Managed to receive interest in 2 LLL.co domains but I guess I'll hold on to them for a while. The offers will only bring in double the investment but point is, it's a good sign that there are signs of interest in such domains.

Hitz.co and saves.co are nice. You can do a fair amount of things with those. Nagasaki.co is nice since .co.jp is the Japanese extension.

Is it too early to get the "i" and "e" prefixed .co's? (sorry if this has already been discussed in this thread).

If you like one, get it before someone else does! Some great ones have already been taken.

Hyphens are definitely a hit/miss.. I think if you happen to get happen to get an extremely good keyword name but it's hyphened. You are okay but just any and all.. Not so much.

Nice Names Wordwalker!!!
Best of luck to you with them all.

- - - -

Speaking of Dot Co with the dash...
... i can't speak for every niche, but if you search around the law industry, you will see virtually every major (and not so major) key string - WITH the dash - has been taken. Some with even two dashes are gone as well... this is mostly due to the high CPC of that individual industry, but this may be one industry that WILL work.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=573976

With that in mind, i bought my first (and only) dot co with a dash...
... the CPC ALONE is almost as much as the cost for the actual registration - $22 CPC, and every major extension WITH and WITHOUT the dash is also all gone.

I've been looking at the whois for some generic names and others that I own. I was particularly interested in the availability of .TV vs .CO extensions.

Here's what I found (I did 80 or so names)

.COM Everyone Taken
.US All Taken (I have 30 or so .us)
.TV Mostly taken. All the "great" keywords. (My TV included in the "mostly")
.CO All Taken except the GEO's (not Colorado so this makes sense)

I did a further drop down on a couple of TV's that I have that I was surprised(ish) were taken.

What I found really surprised me on a couple of them. They WERE NOT taken by domainers. They WERE NOT taken by the .com holders. They WERE taken by other .COM site owners.

In particular one is a New York Real Estate name that is taken by Halstead.com in the .co even though they do not own the .COM.

Halstead is a HUGE company.

Beginning to think this "may have legs". I think it also speaks to the difference between .CO and .TV.

.CO is undergoing a massive hyped land rush where even marginal names are taken. .TV is a niche (an interesting niche that I like a lot) where selection is being undertaken much more carefully. .CO is also highly overvalued - I see some of my regfee .US listed for 8-15K on Sedo though (?!?!?)

I'm re-evaluating but I am seeing a confused .co next year. Hundreds of "great" sales to fuel the anti-naysayers, along with Thousands of drops.... I see a price decrease coming for MOST auction domains... but some great ROI sales. Still not SOLD completely. I think the price will level out across the board and sales will continue to decline propped by some "Huh?! What? Really... type large sales"

This .co discussion may be going on for another 3-4 years before we get a clear idea!

N.B.

I know no-one cares about .us or .tv but there is no point me comparing .com to .co. I thought it was more interesting to compare to .tv than .com as both are highly speculative in their own way.

My thoughts draw a blank, I can't even see that as a typo. Although, if you are interested in creating a brand name, that might be your best bet.
