I have different experience with sedo. I always kept high scope on sedo auction but unfortunately last three years I got only one direct offer worth $65.00 even that case also buyer went away without making payment.

I had sent around 15 domains to sedo auction using different buyers contacted through mail and NP with scope of I will get higher bids, but not even a single domains received counter offers and I paid sedo commission of $300.00 from my offer amount.

I have had mainly very good experiences with Sedo for years.

Sedo is the largest domain listing/broker service in the world. Domainers and end users buy there.

Low commission of 10% of sale if you park names there. Helps on names under $500.
Very good and prompt service and help from reps 99% of the time.

My only real beef is like with other venues where occasional non-paying bidders skip out with no REAL penalty.

ALL auction venues should require a valid active credit card before any bid is placed so that a $100 penalty could be assessed if the winning bidder doesn't follow through as contracted. Sedo and the seller could split the penalty fees for their inconveniences.

Have no credit card? Then put minimal funds into an escrow account. Lose the auction, get your funds back. Or have the option to keep that $100 on file for future auctions. But MOST bidders should have credit card capability.

I've had fairly good experiences with sedo, not all the offers work out, nor all the bidders pay but at the end of the day, its more than worth it.

You pay nothing to sell domains via sedo, parking does not pay much, but the reduction of the $50 min. to 10% helps you sell cheaper domains via them too.

Plus at the end of the day, there are fairly big buyers there, so chances of getting a decent price sale is higher. Cheers!

Just closed a deal which took 3 and a half months

I could have walked to Switzerland and back to collect the money personally in a quicker time rather than wait on Sedo's supposed experts to do the 10 minute transfer...

Booooooooooooooo!

Like I said .... a necessary evil. A sound company with the security factor of an escrow service and
a huge US and Euro market share.

The just became a headache and difficult. One particular issue was the population of adult ads for names
that should NOT have been. I tried to get them to pull the adult ads placed on my names and was given
the run around and .....adult ads. I had to move my names. These names did not warrant adult ads or
even qualify as "adult" names. Even after my exhausted efforts to tweak the name's keywords, templates,
categories etc ...

How do you tell me, the user, if I try to place adult ads on "non-adult" names that I would be violating TOS
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=567821
but you, SEDO, place adult ads on names clearly NOT adult names by nature.

I'm concerned the SEDO offices have been taken over by pervie deviants .... J/K
