.tel is a good domain to anti the control of ** government.
It can hide political news inside the domain.

Plaggypig, here's the executive summary:

Twitter is a startup. They offer a free service. They tweak features based on user feedback. Cool.

TelNic is a registry. They offer domains for a fee. They launched a service laden with issues. Not cool.

So, you want me to first pay for a .tel domain and then give you feedback on how to make it work. That's my point.

By the way, Justin Hayward has responded at my blog.

So I suggest telnic can provide 2 version.
One for business, one for personal.difference base on admin-panel and sub-domain restrict.
personal for free 1-2 years to expand customer experience. after 2-3 years, maybe just 30% drop.

Liming, what about all those people that bought dozens/hundreds of .tel domains on the mere speculation of domain flipping? Are they personal users or business users?

CallTo: on iPhone

iPhone & "CallTo" Command

I'm just learning that iPhone does not automatically recognize "callto" (click-to-call) feature on individual .TEL records. You must first add the .TEL to your Address book (app) and then follow this process to call:

1) Download .TEL iPhone App
2) Click on a .tel button on the phone (alternatively click on a application icon on the phone)
3) Type the dot tel into your phone
4) Press the enter key to access that .Tel

Wheeww!! That's a lot of work!

Not going to be easy capitalizing on 'pay-per-call' agenda.

I'm hoping that this was said in jest. After all, you don't want .tel to be blocked in China. That's 1.4 billion customers down the drain.

Ok, this is getting interesting. I am warming up to ALL the potential functions of .tel - except for web development.

So I can set up a .tel to "talk" with someone through visits to a web site. No records of what changed and it can be private.

+1 for this idea.

Plaggypig, Liming is your man. Next project: an application that functions as a .tel updater of content, so that people can "converse". That'd increase traffic to .tel domains.

Until the Chinese government finds out.

With .tel, I can post all my recipes and have them link to more recipes which further link to more recipes without all the distractions of pictures and stuff. I want to make a version better than allrecipes.com, without all the useless distractions, disgusting search feature and colorful colors. And I want to do this all by hand.

Furthermore, I would like to not monetize this solution by not publishing the ad solution and which I want to encourage massive amounts of users to use my recipe .tel name just because of this revolutionary way to store .tel.

Hey Tia, I can follow recipes that have no pictures.

But I just had an epiphany, people can use .tel domains to store sex stories, or "pile up" jokes. Who needs images.

Or people can use .tel to issue threats and cuss at eachother in "real time".

Or, how about "piling up" names of stamps or coins one might have in their collections. No pictures, but you can spend some great time doing that.

I think you are on to something. Twitter is very distracting. I am also appalled that I can change my background on Twitter. I want a layout like everyone else. And I would also like to publish sex stories with links to more sex stories which further link to more sex stories.

I am totally getting this!

Exactly.

Until the Chinese government blocks .tel

By the way, I went to sexstories.tel and found nothing there, just links to .com porn sites.

Seems that someone registered that premium .tel domain without realizing the full potential of "piling up" information.

I cannot see, if I were a regular user, why I would use Facebook or Myspace or some free AOL host space with a brower control panel for design when all I have to do is explain to my relatives and friends what .tel is, scorn them for going to the .com and allow them access to my whole contact information.

For the life of me, dealing with corporate clients: I also do not understand why they would not reinvest money re-branding their support system to re-point their customers to a .tel domain when they already have useless telephone systems! I mean, common, look how easy .tel is to set up and use. Freaking they act like they need control or compatibility or something.

Imagine this, "piling up" votes for American Idol! That'd be a great real-time tool.

Or keeping track of the weight lost by the "Biggest Loser".

Maybe I am just ahead of this game. Liming opened my mind up.

Acroplex, think of it as the dmoz of DNS. You have directories with links. And people adding directories with links which link to more links and even more links! This is amazing advancement in internet technology! Can't you see it, too??!
