![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ...is it just me or does the "add 30 days/1 credit" thing make no sense? Why would someone pay 1 credit to have their domain placed back on a 30-day vote when they could just use a credit and automatically put the domain into auction? lol

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | How do you verify a name? 2nd time I am trying to put a name in the Bido system (gave up last time). I changed the nameserver to ns3.this-domain-on-auction-at.bido.com yesterday and have clicked verify and resend email multiple times still says "awaiting verification". What am I doing wrong or does it take a day or 2 for a domain to get verified and I am not being patient? Thanks in advance |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I believe it is a method of ensuring that only good names are Posted into auction, and here is the cool thing...If you use that credit to give your domain another 30 days, well if it sells then Bido gives us that credit back. I copied this from their site for ya... Bido Credits are returned to your account when: - Your auction sells with a winner, or - if you accept the high bid within 24 hours (if your BidoPrice was not met) when you used Bido Credit(s) to accelerate to auction The Bido Credit(s) are returned to your account at the same time Bido pays out your auction proceeds. If your auction does not sell, your credits are not returned. It's all starting to make sense to me...slowly but surely ![]()
I have had the same problem a few times as well. What I have learned is that the Whois doesn't reflect this NameServer change as quickly as we would like it to. So, Now when I change NS, I will click Verify once. If it doesn't take I will check the Whois, and wait until Whois shows the updated info, then I will go back into Bido and click "verify" and so far everytime it has then worked!

![]() | Yesterday's sales on Bido.com Blitz - Please contact me at garrett@bido.com and I can help you get your domains verified right away. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | If you have names sitting at Sedo with a few views per month, I would highly recommend giving Bido a try. As a frequent user of both platforms, my opinion is that Bido is light years ahead of Sedo in customer service. I have been able to move inventory on Bido- quickly- that had very little chance of being found/seen on Sedo, without the complicated commission formula, parking mandate, etc. Bido actually seems to listen to its customers and does so with professionalism and class, something that is sorely lacking at some other sales platforms. They've come along way and they deserve a shot at your business. ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=560553 Note: Not associated with Bido other than a buyer/seller. I know what it feels like to not get a sniff with a good domain and Bido has allowed me to sell many domains profitably. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | The problem is- for those of us who don't deal in .mx, .cc, .ws, .me or .tel- BIDO doesn't seem to offer the right sort of inventory to attract the sort of right buyers. In turn, without the right buyers, it doesn't attract the right sellers, which keeps the inventory quality very, very, very, very low. It's a vicious cycle, however, it seems that the inventory quality has been ever-so-slowly eeking upwards, albeit still overwhelmingly loaded with shit.vc.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | For the most part, I like BIDO but to me, they're more of a "domain liquidation" site. There are good ones on here, yes, but lately, all I see are .mx, .ws etc. If only there was a way to segregate them. I've never fancied .mx and have no interest in them. ---------- Post added at 04:55 AM ---------- Previous post was at 04:53 AM ---------- I think he'll figure it out. I hope to God he does.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | This is the same set-up as everywhere else though. Multiple extension auctions all day long at various intervals, etc. ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=560553 I too, have been re-introducing myself to Bido this past couple of weeks, and notice a lot of extensions that I may not be interested in also, but with the amount of auctions that are kicking off all day long at 1minute intervals they may just keep growing at such a rapid pace that they might HAVE to segregate individual extensions into different categories and run them at the same time as others. Like a .com specific auction page all day long, .net, .org auctions on a different viewing page, or time-slot, etc. They grew from one domain per day to...who knows, but a LOT per day now. What would be the alternative? Once your domain gets submitted in, then having to wait a month down the road for your auction to kick off? That wouldn't work. In my short time dealing with them, I'm thinking they are going to do whatever it is, that we all ask for since we are the ones making them money. I cant say that for any other auction house. All I can say is Sedo, ya might want to step it up a notch...lol

Signed up for Bido today myself after a conversation with Larry. While I agree with Dongsman's point about the vicious cycle where a lack of quality domains drives a lack of interested buyers, which in turn drives away potentially good domains, the only possible fix for that is for people in the domaining business who want to see a platform other than the incumbents succeed to go list some names there. ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=560553 To that end, I would suggest search engine blocking from listings as an optional feature for them. Many people do not want their domain sale listing coming up as the #1 search in Google for their domain, for various and mostly obvious reasons. From where I am, as a person who has long stopped using the major markets and has lots of domains that are $xx value keyword domains with mostly .com extensions, Bido actually seems like an ideal place to list -- the relative dearth of quality domains on major extensions actually works in my favour.
