I am a future seller on Bido with two names at auction and one more approved. I am however a little concerned with the speed of the site. Does it make some of the endusers stay away? I mean how patient are endusers or even domainers? You try to close the site while it is still loading becuase you think it is frozen and you get an error report saying internet explorer is not responding....

I do agree this is a great site, but until the speed issue really gets resolved, users can't really guage the popularity of it. Maybe more endusers or domainers would be more willing to bid on the names if they were more patient.

Right now, speed is everything in this day and age and once this issue really gets fixed, you will see a huge influx of traffic. I know I would go there more than once a day if I had time to wait.

I must say, I'm quite confused about complaints about the speed of Bido. I noticed a few other posts here relating to it...but I have absolutely no problem loading/navigating the site.

I type in bido.com, I hit enter...it loads in <2sec. No delays, no problems, nothing. I've never had a problem with it, in any of its incarnations.

Using Firefox 3.0.12 on WinXP.

The problems with speed only seem to be when using IE. I have given up trying and have reverted to Firefox which as Justin said, loads in a couple of seconds.

Well that would explain my problem. I have 3 computers, all running IE. I do have google chrome downloaded and installed on my home computer. I will give it a try.

I want my names at auction but we should not have to fill out the contract for every individual domain.

I did watch a few auctions go off, when they first went live and were only auctioning one name per day...
I see they have gotten alot larger now and wanted to use them to try selling a few domains.

I just submitted some domains to Bido.

I have an email from them asking me to change my registrant last name to a code they have given me.
All of my domains have privacy on them so will they still be able to verify that I changed my Registrant last name???
or will I have to take the privacy off of them before they verify that I DO in fact own the domains I have submitted?

Please can you clarify:

1. For no reserve auctions the fee is always just 8% of the sale price.
2. If a no reserve auction doesn't sell (no bids), there is no fee.

I haven't slept for 3 days and my brain is frazzled.

Also, are idns accepted?

Correct, no reserve have no up-front fees to list for voting, and the commission is 8% when they sell. If there are no bids, there is no fee.

IDNs are technically accepted but at this time only in their ASCII UNICODE, we are not fully PUNYCODE enabled at this time. It will appear to the visitors to Bido as xn--whatever.ext and NOT the encoded charset. We plan to further support IDN in the future.

Some of the names I have submitted are at Godaddy and in order for me change my last name for varification I have to tick

I have read and agree to the Domain Name Change Registrant Agreement and understand the domain cannot be transferred within the next 60 days.
Select the checkbox to indicate you have read and agree to the Registrant change agreement. If you do not, you cannot continue.

Mellow that's Godaddy policy. If you change the whois info of one of your domains, your domain is locked for 60 days. There's been a big fuzz about it for a long time and the "60 day" policy is not one that is allowed under ICANN rules.

Well Mellow Godaddy does not allow you to transfer out of them for the next 60 days but between Godaddy Accounts there are no transfer issues when you check that Agreement.Hope it Helps.

Yea I know hun I Just wondered how we can get round this to get the names in auction. If the names %100 were going to be accepted then its not such a bad thing but the buyer would have to accept this also but Im not going to lock these names to be told they are not accepted.

I put some names at Bido for Acceptance but did not verify them, the Names that were marked as Staff Favorites, I was asked to complete the verification on them and after verification they made it to the Auctions but I had many others that after I verified ownership got decent votes and were accepted to Auction.So if you are not willing to take the risk you can list them there and hope that they get marked as Staff Favorites.
Also,I hear there is other way for your Domains to get verified by Changing Nameservers for the Domains that have Whois Privacy Enabled on them,You need to contact the Staff to know more about it.
