![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | The Move I lived in Los Angeles for 10 years. I've also lived in the Bay Area for about 13 years. Before you move to either place, you should spend at least two weeks there first. You can use the two weeks to get a feel for the place, get a job and secure an apartment. The quickest way to end up being a motel regular is to relocate to anywhere without first having a job and an apartment waiting for you. Yes, California is on sale, but there are reasons for it. The economy, crime, incompetent politicians, illegals, mortgage meltdown, etc. You should research each factor to decide for yourself. You might also want to visit these websites because you just might find yourself living in one of these neighborhoods. http://streetgangs.com/ ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/the-break-room/549294-california.html http://www.lapdcrimemaps.org/ http://www.lapdonline.org/most_wanted http://gismaps.oaklandnet.com/crimewatch/ The other nite I was in Oakland after work near the courthouse. I had just left a McDonalds when about 25 baggy pants herd of fleeing "protesters" ran through the parking lot. Hot on their trail was an armored vehicle with about 8 police officers hanging on. The "protestors" were part of a larger group that had rallied in the downtown area earlier to protest a BART (subway) police shooting on New Years day. Some protesters protested while the others went on a rampage destroying the property of about 300 innocent business and car owners around the downtown area. Just do yourself a favor and research the area you are considering moving to first. You should read this: http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/090109/unemp...st_states.html
