Good luck to you, buddy.. I smoked off and on over the years. Don't think I ever got addicted. Stupid, smelly, expensive habit..

Now I can't even stand to be around a smoker.. hopefully you will get to that point as well.

You've quit cold turkey? Yeah I think that's a difficult one but probably the most effective esp. after the horrible withdrawal symptoms. Quitting will benefit you in the long run. All the best!

Good luck Nick... I know the struggle well. Here's a great tip for the physical aspect... get your hands on some cinnamon sticks (not the candy, the actual cinnimon bark like in this photo - http://www.culinarycafe.com/Spices_Herbs/Cinnamon.html).... pop one in your mouth and chew it gently all day. Don't chomp on it... just put it there in your teeth. It tastes great, and it helps.

If gums don't stop bleeding by monday. Then dentist for sure.

After Nick posted this thread i started thinking and finally after running out on cigarettes i went by the pharmacy to pick up some meds and i saw the counter full of anti smoking aids and ...picked up some lozzenges(hate gums)!

That was at 11am yesterday...i was popping every hour one of it (like the instructions are telling you) and it was sorta "ok", still had cravings...until 7.30 pm when i went to the store to get some things....well make a long story short, i forgot my cellphone(due to the cravings messing with my mind) in the store and had to go back to eventually get it and got sooo mad at myself beeing so stupid to forget my cellphone...and what was stupid me doing to release the anger???

Right, i bought some cigarettes and they calmed me down :-(

(luckily i got my cell back, someone found it)

So, that was my try, i have to say it was still the longest time without a cigarette for me in over 6 years...

But i believe it is not only different, individual for each single person you need also the "right time" for it ...(regardless of some anti smoking aid containing tobacco)

Anyway, i know that i will try it again very soon because i am tired of this addiction(and i have to go with everybody here, it is the hardest to overcome, i was once addicted to painkillers and got off)

So, now it's time for a cigarette!! :-)

I can't believe that your gums are still bleeding... Did you try rinsing with some hydrogen peroxide? If there's an infection, that might help to knock it out. Don't be alarmed... it's going to fizz a lot, and it may sting... but you'll be better off for it IMHO.

I didn't knew anything about hydrogen peroxide

Also was afraid to do something wrong and ruin it more. Because if I ask for hydrogen peroxide here and if he doesn't have it then some fool will sell me Hydrocloric acid telling me its okay to use it.

Check in with your dentist regarding the gums bleeding, for sure ... but not being able to sleep as you did before, being irritable, a little shaky, and/or absent minded or forgetful is all PART OF THE DEAL with quitting! Trust me.

You're doing great, and keep up the good work ... it'll take a good deal of time to finally kick this thing, but I promise that the end result is a fully cleansed, and healthful bliss!

PS. A little hydrogen peroxide, as sugested, mixed with water a couple times a day should help, as well.
