I can't remember for sure but I think BulkRegister was the cheapest at $9.99 or $8.99 in 2000......I forget what it was, but I remember thinking I can't beat it anywhere. You had to pay Bulk a $79 memebership fee however to get the lower prices.

I left Network Solutions for BulkRegister and it saved a fortune in cash by slicing the renewal fees by roughly $25 each.

The two year requirement at $70 was dropped in...... maybe 1998...... and then that was why you could reg for one year at $35. That freed up cash of many domain owners at the time in domains that would have been forced to reg for two years.

Godaddy was not around in 2000........ I think......correct me if I am wrong.

I agree! All big domainers like Rick Swartch and Rick Latona invested in Porn or Adult domains in the early days - I tihnk most of them used to be in the adult production industry.

I also did not want to stoop that low, thinking I could do better - so I regged gaming domains - and did okay...

I respect those that tried to develop in the early days - not much to respect about those who had tons of money already from elsewhere, then moved to domains and snatched up all the adult domains or just started mass parking everything. Really, maybe you could say there was some insight - otherwise there are tons of questionable stuff I could have made money off - Meth and Crack cocaine could have also made me lots of money in those days - but I chose not to deal in those either.

Those who regged lots of dictinary .coms in 1995-1997 - kudos!
Those who regged all the porn stuff in 1995-1997 - Uhmm wipe your keyboard - its sticky...ewwww

I guess losers have their own version of history, too...

In fact, the domainers pre 2000 - before the existence of parking companies as we know today - were mostly in porn and gambling domains.
And made money via affiliate programs.

People can thank the porn industry for 'inventing' online affiliate programs.
You called me a loser? My own version of history?

How about this...show me some Schwartz domains making money outside of parking. At best he has setup his own feeds for affiliates.

Amazon affiliate program started in 1996. It's only a year or so before that porn houses used affiliate programs. Yeah...porn created the online affiliate program. So what. Still doesn't take a genius and doesn't change the fact that most domainers rely heavily on parking and direct feeds.

You can't say Rick made money selling domains...he has barely a handful of names sold. His major source of income is PARKING PARKING PARKING. You got something else to say wiseguy?

Certainly domainers existed PRE-2000 but what were they? Guys that owned a lot of domains that's all. Parking is what sparked this industry and I stand by that statement.
