Since when have I not admitted to thrashing .tv? I've had bad things to say about .tv speculation since 2001 and it has greatly underperformed the market all that time, especially for the people who bought premiums.

I've made similar comments about .mobi, .info, .us and in the last 6 months 3 and 4 letter .com's, but it would seem .tv speculators take the cake in terms of not handling non positive viewpoints well (.mobi speculators a close second).

Well, I would have to disagree strongly there.......

mobi folks are WAY more rabid then anyone I have seen in here. In fact, I would say that mobi takes the cake in people pouncing on anyone that dares say anything negative about that extension.

.tv will stand up and say video this and video that, but we never tromp in and say "BUT FOR CHRISTS SAKE LOOK AT THE 7 LARGE COMPANIES USING .MOBI!!!!!"

BTW - you should look at it thisway snoop -the smart domainers are fully aware of the .tv risks - they just make solid calculated decisions on each purchase they make and profit accordingly

I'll be the first to admit that you've made some good points about the vulnerability of .tv as a speculative vehicle. However I don't belive the strong negative reaction you oft invoke is accountable merely to the viewpoint. Its more that you have little original to add, its all stuff we've heard before and you just repeat yourself.

I find it interesting that you've made thousands of posts and yet have ZERO trader rating. Once again I question your motives and reasons for being here. On NP, not just this forum.

I've asked in the past if you werent merely trying to knock down .tv in order to lower its price, that perhaps you're actually buying under another alias. Never heard an answer. But I guess it doesnt matter one way or another really.

I think overall most people have large losses from premiums. You can see it in the number of drops and sales of names for less than the renewals paid versus the small number of high sales reported.

I hate to put it this way but Snoop and his minions are not the problem to what may be taking place here. We all know the relentless negative opinions he gives the forum and he doesn't seem to have a clue as to why he is even here, save for some obscure mental quasi sado/masochistic enjoyment he may or may not benefit from, but I digress.

The problem is that some give greater weight to negative than positive. That will be self-defeating each and every time. What got me interested in the forum when I first joined here was that there was boundless positive energy and brainstorming and there wasn't a day where I didn't learn something new or want to participate in some venture or another. The cameraderie was deep and we shared a common goal. We had differences but we had more in terms of shared beliefs.

We still do. All we have to do is give appropriate time to the negative opinions, i.e., read the post and stop dwelling on it with wringing hands and the weeping and gnashing of teeth. Let's move on to one that serves our own self-interest. The naysayers(psychic vampires) will always want to suck your energy and confidence out of you and will only succeed if you allow them to. Tune them out, rely on your comrades, ask questions if you don't know some aspect or another, and just get back to the job of having fun with this ever-growing extension.

I say this as one of those who is attempting to fight the naysayers by developing one or two of my own .tv names, which I hope to do by year's end. I have some good names, downloaded some free programs and am learning to develop. Not easy, but not so hard, and this way another .tv web channel is up and running.

Laugh and the world laughs with you. Cry and you cry alone.

This is the type of (bizarre) argument that isn't worth discussing. However it is not completely uncommon for people to think like this this in regards to alt extensions on forums though. Their own viewpoints are so rose colored that they cannot fathom how anyone else could not share the same viewpoint, therefore they think it must be some type of conspiracy for someone to not think the extension will do well.

And what does trader rating have to do with namepros discussion? Zero or me (100+) we all can discuss domains the same. Just cause you invested in a certain type of domain and people tell you what they think about them shouldn't mean you get excited.

honestly i agree. i only have about 75 tvs, read the recent schwag, got locked out of a renewal at enom and then bugged out. turns out they honored my premium within 24hrs.
