Help The Homeless - Holiday 2009
As Coast has pointed out, the big boys who can help the most are notoriously slow movers. Ever try to push a boulder uphill? It's not only slow but painful. BUT...once it get's there...it rolls quite nicely downhill. Just what I continue to expect from the exclusive TLD of the mobile internet.

Dead? If so, I'll be quite busy the next few months contacting my visitors and letting them know they're visiting a dead (or dying) TLD

Words are pretty easy to throw around. Let's try some visuals of "mobi death"

August for EarlySigns

August for FbiMostWanted

August for DatingHelp

August for NewHairstyles

August for Evacuations

I could go on and post more but I think you get the picture.

Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't the definition of "dead" constitute a reversal of this trend?

As far as I can tell the list is growing, so instead of standardizing and helping consumers, confusion is what is reigning, while we continue in this "standards war". So far (and this has been talked to death!) the following are all formats of the mobile web:
It isn't just "some", last time I looked of the top 10 sites on the internet 9 were now using m. or mobile. subdomains.

The only one missing was wikipedia who haven't released their mobile site yet. What you have listed is a whole lot exceptions, just like .mobi usage is an exception. Instead of looking at what is an exception, looks at what is becoming the rule.

Your site getting traffic is a sign of your sites health, not the health of an extension.

It's certainly a factor in the tld's health. I'm helping to expose a new TLD to the masses. When a new PC visitor visits a mobi site, they'll know right away it's "different" and most likely will take notice. This is crucial to the TLD's success and acceptance. One step at a time....it isn't going to happen overnight friends...
