Small issue i've noticed:
After i've logged in and clicked on create a new listing It's showing the login box at the left for some reason.

I'm also getting an error when trying to post a comment inside an auction:

The requested URL /demos/add-comments/ was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

For now we have a site using this script at NameAuction.ws. I'm still working with the script, but I'm not sure it's going to work for us.

The script is ok. It seems to be well-written and designed for the most part, but I was thinking about using it more as a sales site than a marketplace. I looked into importing a text file of domains, but that looked like it was a little risky and might cause problems. And outside of the listing categories there is no way to search and sort listings, so if you have a lot for sale that may not work well for buyers.

If you set the listing cost to 0, then you don't get charged to create listings. At first I used PHPAdmin to give myself 1000 credits, then I later went back into PHPAdmin to change the price of the categories to 0. Note: I JUST saw that if you edit a user you can increase their credits....!

Buyers have to login to bid, and I would like to make it so someone can just contact me if they have questions or want to make an offer, or BIN. Again, any complaints I have with the script are a personal problem and not the fault of the script.

If you have the time and the interest, buying and modifying scripts is a great way to learn PHP programming. As a learning example, this one of the best I have seen and you can learn about about PHP, CSS, using includes, and mod rewrite by studying the files you get.

So I am quite satisfied with the script for the price I paid, but like any script that is inexpensive you need to check out a demo carefully to make sure any limitations are not going to cause problems for you.

Wishlist:
- I'd like to see the script set up to have unique meta title, keywords, and description tags for each listing. This might require the addition of 1-2 additional database fields.

- It would be nice to be able to use HTML tags in the listings. I know this can cause problems, but it would nice to have it as a user option admin can enable.

Couple questions how do I make it so the BIN is not required also on the pages that list all the auctions how can I show the subtitle under the title.

How can we can also show the bid count on the pages that show all the listings

How do you make it free listing? would be nice if in the admin area that when you selected a category from the drop down that it became editable and place to input free or amount of credits. As I have it as 0 and it still says I dont have enough credits when I make a listing on a new account.

I created a 2nd account to test the bidding and got a popup saying

reliable1: I provide updates, although usually 6-12 months apart. When I get enough feature requests, then I update. Bugs, when reported, are generally fixed within 72 hours, and a mass e-mail is sent to all buyers.

Hmm, I thought I would go ahead and buy based on the positive comments and quick replies.

I have installed but get an error on the home page which I cannot get passed. I have looked into the code but can't understand where it is going wrong. Here is the error:

Well I for one am tired of idiot like this guy. I continue to say something and his freaking thread gets bumped back to the top. People could care less what is in the thread as they will only read the first post. So the more I reply the more popular it looks.

I don't like it when some or all of a script is encrypted, but after this I won't mind as much. :-)

Thanks for the support guys - unfortunately, DP moderators have refused to do anything about it. I've run up against this wall before (for quite a few of my other scripts actually), since people find it "fun" to null my scripts and post them on warez servers.

Good, It makes me feel a little better about DP.

But you know, even if people do that, you can still fight back. All you have to do is provide some proof that you own the code, and then contact the sites that use illegal copies. If they don't comply, you can contact their ISP who should take you seriously, because illegal activities extend to their business. Going after the buyers may be the only way to reach the bad guys and make it less attractive for people to use stolen scripts. If the buyers start asking for refunds from PayPal, it will get PayPal's attention as well. :-)

Does this only integrate with vBulletin? Are there plans to integrate with other software? Willing to pay for integration if reasonable.

Also the features say easy to customize theme/design... is it all CSS? Are their templates to modify code/layout? Css editor in admin area with preview of what you're changing?

If I make changes and add features to script if I want to share them am I able to charge for the modifications I make or do they have to be free if I want to share? For small one's obviously free would be way to do it but if I take a week of work to make a big modification that is a big benefit to have, I might want to charge.

I know we can pay for you to install... does this mean there's no install user interface? Is it all editing files and uploading? If no user interface that goes through this, what is the cost to install? I might pay rather than spend time manually editing db config info and what not.

Also, are we free to remove any copyright/powered by etc links at bottom? If there's a cost to do so what is it?

That's all i can think of right now... thanks in advance.

mh0825: This script is standalone - it does not integrate with any forum software at all, it is completely separate. We have no plans to offer integration into any other pieces of software, so if you want to integrate it, you'll need to hire a programmer to do so. Same goes for features - you'll need to hire an outside programmer to make the modifications (these you are more than welcome to offer back to DiscountedScripts and others at a profit so we can offer them to our purchasers as well; however, they must be installable without bundling them, as you cannot distribute the script itself).

Installation includes database setup and configuration, as well as basic site information configuration. The script will be fully functional when we complete installation, but it will not be branded and the templates will not be modified.

You are free to remove any and all copyrights on the script, but you may not distribute the script in any form.
