completely irrelevant. It will be all about branding the right name with the
right TLD. Although, .COM will still survive strong, the rest I'm not so sure about.

auctions for premium names will start in September, and Auction for Landrush aplications will start in some monday, end in thursday, and that must be finished until 17th July

Hi,

Just because the DIY domain is taken in all other extensions doesn't automatically mean it is worth registering in the .ME extension does it?

If nearly all or all extensions are taken, does not immediately mean you should get the .me version... Some .asia investors, went registering with this same mindset, we will see what the future holds for their investments as time progresses

here is auction rules:
Multiple Applications for a Domain Name

1. Non-compliant applications will be canceled, the Registrar notified, and the applicant will not be invited nor allowed to participate in the auction.

2. The Registrant contact and submitting Registrar of all compliant applications will be notified of the date of the auction and the auction site URL. In addition, the applicant will be sent credentials (via email) that must be used prior to the start of the auction to establish a qualified bidder’s account.

3. Auctions last 3 days starting Sunday, Monday and Tuesday and ending on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. End times will be staggered in two 4 hour blocks per day. The minimum opening bid is $75 (seventy-five USD).

4. Bidding in an auction:

a. Applicants may place a maximum bid and a proxy service will automatically bid for them.

b. Alternatively, applicants may place a fixed bid in real time at the next bid increment level.

c. Any lead changes in the last 24 hours results in an automatic 24-hour extension of the auction.

5. The winning bidder, the Registrant contact (if different), and its Registrar will be notified via email.

6. The winning bidder will have 72 hours to arrange payment through the auction platform via credit card or wire transfer.

7. The winning bidder should allow 72 hours for the payment to be validated. If there are any issues with payment validation the winning bidder will be notified and allowed sufficient time to rectify any such issues.

8. After the payment has been validated the name will be registered under the management of the submitting Registrar and allocated to the Registrant as listed in the application. The Registrar’s fund account will be immediately debited for the annual registration fee for the applicable minimum number of years – five (5) years for Sunrise, two (2) years for Landrush. The winning bidder, the Registrant contact (if different), and its Registrar will be notified via email.

I pre-regged 7 names during the landrush that ended yesterday. Any idea when the auctions will begin or when I find out if any were uncontested?

The .me domains I attempted to register from Godaddy during Landrush have already been refunded. I called GoDaddy as it seemed a bit early for them to have been doing this and they told me that the registry, for some reason or another, would not allow the domains I registered.

They were generic words that have NO whois record when I checked at domain.me so I know they are not reserved.

I am confused as to what's going on.
