Well, it seems like maybe it was a mistake to auction all those .me domain names at ebay after all (see my signature). The highest bid is still very low and the auction is ending tomorrow!

I really do hope there will be some action during the last minutes. There are some nice brandable domain names in that lot!

I have had 2 offers in the mid $xxx range already and the .COM, .NET and .ORG are all parked. Those would be far more expensive to acquire than the .ME and "nickname" really fits the .ME extension well. Based on the input and offers I have had since acquiring this name I would say this is a high $xxx to low $xxxx name.

Development costs would be low and the ability to penetrated the "nicknaming" market would be great. Set up one of those sites to make your mafia, rapstar, superhero, or just a generic nickname! Loads of potential advertising to put on a site like this...similar to those "IQ" tests you always see.

Now, I am not saying you are wrong, evirtual, as you have more experience than I...but I just feel like this is way beyond a reg fee name.

I have raced.me and I have an idea for developing it into a site like youtube but for racing videos. It will be like one big car community. People from all over the world can join and post videos of cars, races, street racing, drag racing, nascar, etc....Cars have a huge market and I think it would be a great idea.

Only problem is I don't know how to go about starting something like that and actually making money off of it. I'm a Graphic Designer, but I don't do web developing. So I'm not really sure where to start!

What do you guys think?

That doesn't sound TOO unreasonable, just depends on when you need/want the funds. The problem with .ME's is generally exposure so .ME-exclusive auctions generally fair quite well for them - something I am waiting for with one of mine. If you need the funds, start it with $500...if not, just hold out for upcoming auctions (not sure when when will come up) or a bigger offer.
