I still haven't been notified when my auction will start, and open registration starts tomorrow!

On that note, Dynadot are allowing pre registration now and will attempt to secure the domain the moment open registration begins. No guarantees obviously and if unsuccessful, the monies will go into your Dynadot Account rather than being refunded which is far from ideal. Registration costs $19.99 per year (minimum 2 years).

I won't register any .me names as I intend to place my bets on that single landrush name I ordered. It's fun searching at Dynadot though to see what's been taken. Or more to the point, what's NOT been taken. So much for the credit crunch lol.

Edit: I just got my notification email. My auction ends in mid August There's now 108 pages of landrush auctions at the official .me auction site. There are a few gems (especially near the end of the list) but quite a lot of trashy looking and some high profile TM names that don't deserve a single bid IMO.

This week, Apple replaced mac.com with me.com , proving they have a clear "me" strategy! Alongside Microsoft, Google and many other worldwide brands, they have already secured their .me domains for this brand new "all about you" domain name, open to the public from tomorrow.

ME.com does indeed go to an Apple site. I am curious to see if they plan to reg ME.ME too.

Every extension is heavily speculated before it is getting used.

I think those x,xxx bids are from speculators.

With .me, there are huge possibilities for domain hacks.

Considering the higher renewal fee, .me is useless, unless a domain name is a strong generic or a nice domain hack.
