Godaddy Bastards!

Happens to the best of us. Domaining is much more competitive than it used to be, much harder to get quality names at a quality price. The key is to not let that upset you to the point that you get discouraged, and decide that this isnt the business for you any more. By the way, are you focused on domain reselling, or do you develop your domains as well?

Thanks for the nice words!

I'm in for both, I'm know for being really creative and outside the box thinker (that's what they say) so this caught my eye and taking it as a hobby.

Too bad I'm not a developer but glad that I'm a Graphic Designer

Ive said it once, and ill say it again. The real money for low level domainers like myself, and yourself, is in development. When I say low level, I do not mean like were 0 and others are 10. I mean we are not Rick Latona, we dont have 80k to invest, and then hope we sell for 100k. To make the most of the internet and what it has to offer you need to develop what you buy, rather than just buy in bulk and park.

You need not be from Asia to get a domain. Your registrar can act as contact free, I register through domainmonster.com. I am in the US.

Find registrars which locate in Asia Zone, I know of two Domainmonster.com and EuroDNS.com. when you check out the accredited registar lists on dotasia.org site, look for the Asian location (it will tell you where the registar is located).

I am mediatating a lot on this...getting domains that i think have potential and wanting to develop it. (There is so much to learn).

May I know what is a reasonable state of development before i start to market it? Is it based on number of hits? Or PPCs? Or Advertising revenue? Or???

I tried to register for a .asia account on my own.

The system asked me for a personal identity number - you know, the unique number assigned to every citizen of some countries. With this number, everything worth knowing about you will be known, if they have access to the data. I also have to be a citizen/resident (i can't remember which) of Asia.

Just an update: I went to dynadot and read on their .asia registrations.

The condition is that only an individual or other legal entity incorporated in Asia can purchase a .asia registration. The terms are very clear on this.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=493878

Thus if you register through a legal entity in Asia, you need to check if you or that legal entity owns the domain.

.asia requires a contact with an asian address. As mentioned earlier in this thread some registrars get around this by letting you use their asian address as your contact. For example Netfirms lets anyone register. From their website "Anyone can register .ASIA domain names with Netfirms because we fulfill mandatory Charter Eligibility Requirements for you. If you don't have a contact in Asia/Australia/Pacific** you can assign Netfirms as your Charter Eligibility Declaration Contact (CED)."
http://www.netfirms.com/domain-names/asia/asia-faq/

However they charge you 5/year extra for this.
