| Recycles.tv first instinctive association is with reruns. Although a different approach is described in this post...
Recycles looks like it is roughly on par with rerun and reruns, in terms of trends. All three of these are blown away, of course, by recycle.
Another approach that comes to mind is to set up a video based "used items classifieds". Allow people to upload a max 15-30 second video spot of what they are trying to sell or give away. Gives them an opportunity to demonstrate, for instance, that the item actually works as advertised.
Time limit to conserve bandwidth and to encourage people to jump around the site. Probably a default small icon (for maximum listing space) that leads to the various vids/descriptions. They want a bigger icon then they have to pay or pay more for the listing, depending on your monetization strategy.
Featured items (front page) would ideally randomly be selected from the active listings. Another revenue opportunity in "premium" listings that get a higher appearance frequency. I would think the basic model would be free, but getting featured or getting higher visibility spots would be worth paying for. Gives you traffic, interest from general users and the option of a form of monetization aside from advertising.

| Thanks Shaper for the great development ideas. I was actually thinking more along the lines of "recycling" and how we can utilize all the diferent methods of recycling thing we use on a daily basis. This is becoming a huge topic all over the world, as we are slowly using up all the resources we have at our disposal
Nice to hear all the other ideas though.

How about combine it with a geo subdomain and give it some meaning/context...

california.recycles.tv
london.recycles.tv
ect...unlimited geo domains for the price of one!
Another idea while brainstorming, brand it like re:cycles.tv
as in "regarding cycles" a site about bicycles or motorcycles. | |

| Thanks evirtual1, I know, its not the ideal word in that area but its the best I could do and still believe with this becoming such a huge issue, the word will be valuable
Especially when you consider that the only other words like it are recycle, recycled and recycling
