I like it.
Although in the there is a downtown, the term city center and city centre can fit the shopping districts of thousands upon thousands of cities rather nicely. I would have bought the term for reg fee. Nice pick up for a developer.
Aside from shops, can also denote municipal-sponsored activities like free concerts, farmers markets, etc.

Its ok Hulls, but remember the Americans spell centre as center.
So i would quickly grab citycenter.tv if i were you,if you are looking to develop you then have both angles covered.
Edit- it appears citycenter.tv was regged in April this year,

I concur. It good to have your bases covered. Although not as prominent, centre IS used as well in the US, and you can use the term interchangeably as we know that it has the same meaning.

one thing to remember with subdomains, for SEO - google views them as different sites.
