Simply beautiful Andy! I'm definately very jealous of you! I've always wanted to buy a house in either England or Ireland. Does anyone know how much that would run for either place?
I must admit to not being a gardener, thats my wife. The hard paving bits are mine, (as is the shed).
The picture was taken because of a late afternoon burst of sunshine, it is sunnier with less shade during the day. The annual flowers have started showing and it looks quite colourful hence I posted it to add a bit of colour to the forum.
Five years ago it was a farmers field, some would say that this is no improvement (I agree on one level), but with the need for development on the fringes of towns and cities, this one is better than some.
Thanks for all the positive comments, we are pleased with the response.
so much green..... i am always shocked when i see other places and how green they are. living in the desert, there's not much grass and trees.
when i first moved to arizona, my dad wanted a nice green lawn in the front yard, but it was too much of a hassle since it rains like once every 3 months...i remember every morning he'd grumble about the yellow patches of dead grass
he now has desert landscaping which is just rocks, cactus, and other plants that require very little water.

When I was a kid in Texas, we had nothing but red sand for a "lawn". Lawn was fairly nice living in NY.. too sandy when I lived in Florida and here it's too rocky!
hey, i grew up in texas too, houston as a matter of fact. i lived there for about 13 years or so. lots of green grass, flesh eating ants, and bugs the size of small kittens......eww
