Are you following in footsteps? Prices of llll.coms
Are you following on the beaten path? or are you making a path of your own?
It seems in the couple of months I have been here at Namepros I have noticed most people follow major investors? If high priced short domains are for sale by a major investor there are immediately more high priced domains are for sale by small investors the next day!! If a major investor say crappy domains are loosing value people sell cheap just hoping to get out?
Its a major problem in my eyes and I am not saying any names! But time and time again I have seen this in the forums!! If you could make your own tide to make yourself rich you would.. I have been studying the market for 4 months now. watching major investors throw peons around. most llll.coms went for over 40.00 on Ebay this month on an individual bases. But for some reason major investors tell you the price is still going down... down down down.. Lets watch everyone sell for cheap when all of these reg fees come around! WELL WAKE UP EVERYONE A REG FEE IS 7.00!! Everyone is selling cheap just so major investors like myself can steal domains for cheap. After the major flood of renewal fees do you personally think the price will drop? are you selling your $100.00 domain for $30.00 just because of a reg fee? I am watching this happen everyday and its literally pathetic watching small investors. If everyone does what major investors want them to do they will sell dirt cheap just so the major investors can get more for there money! Once again when the domains are hard to find next Febuary major investors will rake it in! . The demand is all that seems to matter a simple sale of 1,000 llll.coms at a cheap price here on namepros will kill the market!! making the price cheap for major investors. Once again the major investors put a measly 5k a month into the market making the price sky rocket!! are you really being led by someone? are you making the rich richer buy throwing your chump change into the llll.com market only hoping to get rich quick!! Lets face the facts everyone! if your here to get rich its not happening overnight.. Its time to pull your pants up! move on and put that extra 7.00 into your domain!!
COMMENTS WILL GET REP POINTS ACCORDINGLY ALONG WITH NP BUCKS
As a "major investor", I can say that there is little demand among "major investors" in the low end.
Snoop has been warning everyone for months, so lets not pretend it wasn't without warning and I can assure you very few of us capable of buying into the low end are going to do so unless it gets ridiculously cheap.
$13 Per.. I won't pay a penny more, so no, I for one am not interested in the low end.
The bottom line is that in many ways the big investors do control the low end of this market in the short term.
10 Years from now I'll be one of the biggest supporters and proud to say I believed in their success from the start.. But not today. LLLL.coms still have a long way to go and the domainer incest we've been seeing on the low end is just that and really can't be put nicely. These names will go from 1 reseller to another over and over and over again. The problem here is that now nobody is willing to pay more and the person who bought the domain doesn't really want it -- he just bought it because he thought someone would pay more for it. It's a vicious cycle which will take many months to play out imho.
Advice: Don't invest in the low end unless planning to hold into 2009, you will regret it.
are you talking about a major investor making a price guide? only made by some recent sales? or are you talking about a major investor beating a path for everyone to follow? im a little bit lost by the comment?
You seem to be the one trying to beat a path my friend. I don't force people to read my price guide, I don't put it in highlighted threads on Namepros, and I don't try to bribe Namepros members into agreeing with me through incentives.
The market will do what it will. If you look around, prices are most certainly not going up. That isn't even debatable. As I've said many times now, don't invest in this market unless you can afford to hold.
One thing us "major investors" understand fully well is that a lot of newbies like to panic and sell. That's reality and no thread telling them to do otherwise is going to change that. Wise domainers will plan for the future and pay their 2009 renewals in advance if they don't have the self control to set that money aside in advance.
Im not stating that i own any domains great short domains or crappy domains im simply stating that large investors seem to sway the market any direction they want Im not asking for your help
I really have no clue what you're talking about. The only 2 major anti-low end domainers have been me + Snoop to the best of my knowledge.
Snoop's less interested than me, that's for sure, and I have no interest in buying back in. Low end is at best going to stagnate until renewal time. There is no logic whatsoever in suggesting prices are going to increase when buyers are going to immediately be hit with renewal fees. Renewal fees make up a whopping 30% of a low end LLLL.coms's value -- that will certainly hurt it's value short term.
Again, patience is a virtue. Don't blame it on major domainers. I think we've been more than kind to give this much of a warning to people who hadn't yet seen it coming.

I never pointed any fingers and I never forced anyone to read anything, nor stated that anyone was? I never stated that if anyone agreed with me that they would get incentives. As for threads that are highlighted what does it matter? This thread has nothing to do with your personal website and I think you might be taking this a bit personal?

I smell some kind of forum tennis which I'm very fond of at times. But the bad part is I'm too busy right now.
AFAIK, 'major investors' can push the market where they want, but in the short term. In the long term, it gets out of their hands.

Why are we still discussing the price of low quality llll.coms? this thread is talking about major investors having a huge affect on the price of any short domain.
That's exactly what I'm planning on doing, but the fact is that I need funds for renewals and selling seems like the only way to do it. Selling right now is pretty tough.

I can agree here, maor investors can push markets and thats exactly what this thread is about. I also agree with the fact that it gets out of there hands later..
I find that statement quite insulting, so yes, please don't mind if I do take it personal
I haven't revealed all my beliefs, facts, etc nor do I believe many, if any on this board would or should, but I've never purposefully tried to deceive anyone. To suggest that major investors are somehow colluding on prices in some major LLLL.com price manipulation scheme is pure conjecture without a shred of truth. You can say what you want about the low end LLLL.coms but don't slander domainers who are trying to do nothing but help.
