-ing names Hi. just wondered what you all thought of -ing.tv. I have a few in my basket that I am tempted to reg. These -ing words get 10 million + on google. Is there any sales history for one word -ing domains - I mean have any of you guys sold any for decent money? I have sold a few in the past but for very little. I think I sold composing to someone on here but can't remember. I am not that keen on them to be honest but maybe if they are good words it's worth considering? Cheers, RH |
I do not have a problem with -ing.tv at all, although some domainers do. There are just certain -ing words that encapsulate the meaning such as Kayaking and Surfing. IMO, I would rather these domain names than the shorter Kayak and Surf. But it some cases of course, the -ing totally down grades it. The classic would be Golf (as my examples are sports related). |
I have only ever bought one -ing .tv and it has received a few decent offers though i am not selling. The domain is Slimming.tv I know when i asked for appraisals on Slimming.tv then most domainers were negative about -ing domains but in my view it is completely down to IF the domain works right with -ing or is it just a keyword with -ing stuck on the end of it To be honest i cant think of too many -ing domains that i would buy but if i found one that looked right, sounded right & it was well used then i would buy it without a 2nd thought. Just my view though, i'm far from a -ingo expert though |
Slimming is a great name Ronnie. |
Thanks. I bought it from Sedo about 6 Months back, only cost around $200 if i remember right. Offers so far have not been fastastc but enough to make approx 5x profit. |
i think it depends on the name- like with the surf example- surfing just sounds better, even tho it has less google results- video.tv would be better than videoing.tv- you know? kinda depends |
Back in October of last year, Atypical (Patty) sold Landscaping.TV $6,500 I currently have peeping on auction at sedo. A lot of words ending in -ing are descriptive and go well with the extension e.g. Bowling, racing. |
Depends on the word, but some –ing words are category killers and represent the best word possible for the niche. As Heroes mentions – surfing is much better than surf (IMO if you want to focus on the sport of surfing) Just look at some of these –ing sales Marketing.mobi $26,000 Flirting.co.uk $26,240 Publishing.net $27,500 Sporstbetting.mobi $41,000 Dating.mobi $73,000 Hosting.mobi $101,000 Consulting.com $181,000 Slimming.com $185,000 Shopping.eu $196,000 Engineering.org $198,000 Recycling.com $300,000 Greeting.com $350,000 Wrestling.com $500,000 So no reason to avoid a domain just because it has an –ing on the end. Really depends on the word. I have a few –ing words - all of which I feel are much better than if they didn’t have the -ing (some getting end user interest as well) BreastFeeding . tv CoinCollecting . tv StampCollecting . tv PartyPlanning . tv |
-ING names are not bad at all.. I have a few myself. RL |
talking about surf and surfing, Indeed that -ing makes a very different price (right now ) : Surf.tv is $25, ( i think its still an old premium price, regged since 2000 ) Surfing.tv is $25000 ( regged in 07 ) |
In the end of the day it really depends on the name & how popular it is with the "ing" attached. Some names work great, others don't. |
... and would any one have a problem with any of these? Dining Wedding Leasing Fishing Living Gaming Gambling Gardening Boxing Yachting AirConditioning |
my pooping.tv over 1000 hits http://www.sedo.com/search/details....4460&language=e and i have copying.tv |
LOL! And it appears to be type-ins too! |
we discussed surf and surfing last year ....... i said surf was better , but as names run out , why not ing , in the right place , no problems ......running , exercising and so on |
