I took a couple days off for some R&R with the family. I don't know the answer to your question. You may want to search the forum using "banner" and "adsense"
Hell, who knows, maybe I'll join your investment team at Whypark....
Happy Fathers Day BTW!

Hi L2: Sounds exciting; you jumped on an emerging trend and dominated your niche. It looks like the rewards are far outweighing the risks! I love seeing people be successful. I hope WhyPark helped in a small way.
Hi All: I just did a post at WhyPark Insider about the benefits of organic search traffic generated from WhyPark content. Here is the link: WhyPark: Organic Search Traffic
Good luck L2, bring home the big bucks and remember everything is for sale at the right price!
Bigger than big Alan. We'll see Thursday just how "big"....
I was asked a week ago - "Who the heck do you have on your websites? You went from nothin', to a hundred in a couple months"
I just smiled....
Just took a look at your blog - nice. Are you seeing "decent" results on the Whypark feed? I noticed the Whypark "Sponsored Ads" are the same color as the "layout" chosen, no matter the layout. Do you think it would be better a "different" color as to stand out and entice the viewer? Will that be possible in the future?

The WhyPark Ad feed is showing decent results. I have some clicks in the $1.30-1.35 range, but in all fairness, I'd have to say the Google Adsense for content is the best. I was getting served PSA ads from Google on all my domains so to monetize I needed the WhyPark ad feed. So the WhyPark ad feed is a necessity for some customers, including me!
For laughs I tried Google Adsense on my Autismcontacts.com domain and was served ads to my surprise. I choose this domain because it was indexed and getting a lot of traffic. So I was able to do some a/b testing between adsense and whypark. Adsense won.
The approach I'm using right now is to wait until a domain gets a lot search traffic and then switch it over to Adsense. I just don't want to flick a switch and turn on 500 domains, I'd rather do the 80/20 rule and put Adsense on the domains with traffic and search engine indexing.
I hope this helps all WhyPark users see a way to use both Adsense and the WhyPark ad feed to their long term advantage. ....Please read between the lines!!!!!!
L2, regarding the color of the text ads, we find the best conversions with the blended in look. Getting the ad feed running was step one, step two has been to continue to integrate new feeds and step three is optimizing the feed. When we got Google slapped, this became our sole focus and now the work on the feed is geared toward optimiztion, high click through rates and higher pays per clicks. Outside of this the new development is taking up all our resources.
I'd suggest you put it on the suggestion board and let WhyPark customers vote it up! We pay close attention to what customers are voting on for improvements.
I think this stooge may have finally made some forward progress in the domain game...
With the help of Whypark
Kinda' funny story - the wife brought home a Forbes Money magazine from the airplane (she's a flight attendant) last November, and I read the article from John Chambers, the CEO of Cisco about his thoughts on "telepresence".
Then the levity of what he had said struck me.... I got on the computer at 2 AM and started buying telepresence related .com domain names. I haven't stopped! Link to Telepresence Domain Names.
I created a problem with the purchase of over 250 domains though.... and I couldn't figure out what I needed to do with all of them while this "telepresence thing" took off. I tried Sedo, you read what happened there.... I tried Parked, I tried NameDrive and a couple of others too.
I wanted to "develop" all of them, but couldn't find the time so I developed 3 - you see them in my signature below - as for the others, I stumbled upon Whypark... I read, read some more, and reread everything I could find on Whypark. Then I saw an article about your 250K investment in Whypark. I got the credit card out and thought "what the hell". If it was good enough for a client's 250K, it was good enough for my $100. I needed to do something with the domains while the industry caught up, Whypark was the answer.
The domains got noticed by companies in the telepresence business real quick (and even more so now).
I started the Forum, started the "News" site, even started the "Report" site with nothing but a Google News RSS Feed. That same feed in December that got one or two telepresence related articles every few days, now gets upwards of 6 to 10 a day! All auto posting!
BUT, 3 developed names weren't going to cut through and put me on the map with the big players....
Those domains got me a thousand dollar invite to the Telepresence Conference in Las Vegas Thursday and has also, with Adsense, started replacing my original investment money.... To date? Just under even. In a couple of weeks - even. Anything after then will be all profit and to save for renewals in case this ship doesn't come in... just yet.
I have no complaints at all!
There's quite a few "good" domains there that these guys have shown interest in, quite a few "so-so" ones - BUT for the right price, somebody can dominate this industry top to bottom with all of them. I only need one cat with the "vision", and these cats in this industry are "ALL VISION" man. LOL, LOL
Thanks for all your help, thanks for taking time to answer my questions.... thanks for wishing good luck - I'll report when I get home

I passed around the list of domains I'm holding to all the participants of the Telepresence Conference at Infocomm08 and must've heard "why didn't I do that" at least 100 times!
LOL, LOL
This early bird got the worm man....
I was registering more dot com names when NP chimed my computer with your reply LOL

Well, I got tied up with my other business and haven't had time to report....
After "Telepresence Day" at Infocomm08, I had to find a computer to go buy a few more "glaring" names... Cisco spoke of how in two to three years, they would have a telepresence unit hooked to your existing HD TV, and from there you'd just simple push one button and connect with an immersive experience with say, Grandma, no matter what telepresence unit she was using. They stressed intercompany telepresence.... LOL (had to get that amongst others).
In the booths on the convention floor, I couldn't believe what I was seeing - real time, real life conferencing - like you were really there. I swear after a few minutes you'd forget they weren't in the room right across the table from you, but were in New York or some far away point. The demo units really drew the crowds too - You couldn't walk by when they were in session - too many people watching! I took a good hard look at the "watchers", and realized what they were seeing is really the next wave of the internet like the CEO of Cisco said a few months ago. HD ip to ip immersive telepresence. They just stood there stunned in disbelief at what they were seeing, and feeling.
What I really needed to get out of all the speakers, and for me most important, was that this "telepresence" is here to stay. They have put all their apples into this technology as to differentiate it from stigmatized video conferencing. New word ie "telepresence", new technology, new markets. It's going to be mainstream soon - in some places it already is. That's a good thing for the domains! They’re not changing the "word", or going in a different direction....
The combined vendors spoke of how telepresence would work (and is working) in the medical field. Military, education, fuel savings, carbon displacement, "green technology", etc. It was a lot of information in a short period of time but I must have heard it from these experts more than a hundred times...."why didn't I do that"? ie. Meaning grabbing the "good" searchable domain names. I think I even said that back in the mid 90's when the internet revolution hit LOL - why didn't I go buy sex.com, or firm.com LOL!
Final analysis - I believe more now than before that telepresence is real and isn't going away. Not with companies like Sony, Cisco, Tandberg, etc. behind it with their money.... Big boys like that will throw enough money at something to make it work, no matter the odds - remember VHS? LOL! They have the "new" name - they have the moolah, and they have the product.... Time will tell if I am either a richer genius or poorer fool I guess. LOL. In soooo many things in my life at least, I’m usually behind the curve trying to do spin control – Kinda’ new to me to be out in front of the building wave – I have to figure out how to capitalize on the opportunity though…. In the meantime - the domains are doing quite well at Whypark - accumulating daily. And that in the end is the question - was it profitable?
Alan - great read here - This is the article that started me down "this" domain road - CNN/Money Article Link

Hello WhyParkers,
I'm experimenting with using Amazon Slideshow widgets to improve the relevancy of the images on my WhyPark sites. Here are a few examples in which I've replaced the stock image in the WhyPark template with selected product images from Amazon:
I'm not sure whether these slideshows will lead to Amazon referral fees, but I figure that the content they provide helps make my sites more relevant to visitors.
Perhaps this suggestion is old news to many of you, but I thought some might find it of interest.

We've been experimenting with CPA at WhyPark; its a bit tricker than CPC. We have some issues with Amazon program, short cookie duration especially. But web-hosting can lead to a $100 commission. Let us know how you make out, I'm definitely intrigued. I like the placement of the widget, but graphically it loses something on the bottom books. Can you sharpen it up?
How do you alter the template and replace the Whypark supplied relevant "picture"?
I really like the Amazon Widget - Amazon probably doesn't have anything I could use for my telepresence sites but I have other domains at Whypark I could use it on.
I see suonim's account at NP is closed, wonder what happened?

Any comments on the Google "stuff"? Too big, too small? Too much? I'm a thinking the Referral box may be too big....

I did the Adsense Videos too just last night so I don't know what to think of them just yet.... but I'll keep this thread posted. Kinda' neat - I wish they were more relevant though - there's a whole bunch of cool 'telepresence" videos but they don't show there, just the relevant ads.... I'm gonna' play with it later tonight, see if I can't "dial it in" better.
I do like the Search box. I have it set to check 5 or 6 of my sites when someone uses it to search by default.... I thought that was pretty cool and functional, especially with the Logo above the box on the search results page....
I don't know about the referrals yet Alan, too new. But I'll keep the thread posted too as I find out... They seem very relevant to topic, and hopefully they'll work pretty good.
See ya' later this evening - checking your Blog post now.

"Note: Referrals is being retired during the last week of August 2008, so we recommend that you do not implement referral ad code on your site at this time. For more information about the retirement of the Referrals program, visit our Help Center."
Just saw that in my Google CP....
To answer your question earlier.... Guess we'll never know how the referral program works now.... LOL
In other news - Google Adsense, Search Bar and Videos all installed
LOL, went to register a few more names, and the dot com's were taken...
