OK, so I bought another 100 domain pack tonight and added another 100 domains.
I still have to tweak a bunch of them over the next few days but no sweat, I like what I see!
I did notice a couple little quirks tonight, not with WhyPark, but with Adsense....
Example - I was adding Score13.com tonight and I couldn't get Adsense to pick up on my intended keyword of "golf". Adsense kept showing "music score" ads LOL. I had the site name as "Golf News", my meta description was about "golf" and my keyword was "golf", but even after everything was golf related, Adsense kept showing "music score" ads.... Googs must really "weigh" the relevance of the actual domain name
Took a while, but I end arounded the music score stuff by simply adding "golf club" and "golf course" to my keywords and walah! I now have a golf related Whypark site!
BTW, Score13 is my usual for a par 4.... LOL - That's why the golf related theme....
I did notice also, the Whypark ads for "golf" were STRONG and super relevant. I may do a test back and forth to see how the ppc works out in the future once I can build some traffic there.
Hey L2, you shoot 13 on a par 4, I hope you're a better domainer than golfer! I liked the ads on your site, the one for the top 5 balls is like giving a golf addict drugs! And, it brings you to a pretty good golf ball review that I book marked. Thanks for buying another block.
I'm preparing a post for my blog WhyPark Insider about some novel ways people have used WhyPark or some sites that have been heavily customized. Either PM me or post here if you have a site that you'd like me to use. You'll get a backlink and some traffic.
If you own more than 1,000 Domains you can receive a free custom proposal from WhyPark. The details are on my blog.
Give me a couple days and I'll get you the answer. I'm going to need to ask Craig on that one. Can you PM a couple of the sites so I can get you the correct answer.
The custom HTML section does give a lot more flexibility in terms of placement. The top and bottom ad code section is only displayed at the top and bottom of each article and the home page by default, whereas the Custom Layout gives you complete control. The functionality is the same in either case in that you’re basically just pasting in your HTML or JavaScript code.
I also sent you a more detailed PM with some tips on how to experiment.
Sorry for the delay in reply - my "main job" and money maker (motorcycle rentals) has been taking all my time lately. I'm sure you know how that is....
I have some time tonight so I think I'll experiment a bit with the custom HTML.... I'll let you know how that goes, maybe post a link to a site or two (if I figure it out).
In other news - I have 200 domains at WhyPark now with 133 "optimized". By optimized, I mean domain settings done (description, tracker, sitemap submitted, etc.). I am really surprised at the increase in traffic over my Sedo/Parked/NameDrive stats. I figure the only reason for the increase in traffic are the "allowance" of backlinks - I've started backlinking my WhyPark domains and there must be some curiosity there - people are loading pages and they are generating revenue - quite a bit more revenue then anywhere else I had them, that's for sure. Even my wife commented that I finally did something right, hahaha
Take care for now - I'll let you know how it goes. I appreciate the help
Today's L2 "Featured WhyPark Domain" - All Adpotions
my wife commented that I finally did something right
Hi L2:
It takes a big man to say, "even my wife commented that I finally did something right, hahaha"
Just wait till fall, we're going to be releasing lots of new features that should help you earn even more money. We've taken our lumps especially with Google, but for a $1 a domain, I just think its the best alternative to parking outside of developing a domain. I don't think enough people understand what you get for a $100. Heck that's less than two tanks of gas? For a car, not a bike!
You'll start to get inquiries from the "this site is for sale" link for domains like alladoptions.com. I don't know what you'd want for the domain, but I always ask for $950 for two word brandable domains. Sell a couple of those a month and your wife will love you!
OK, I'm starting to realize some SUPER benefits here at WhyPark....
I just figured out how to add a banner on my front page directing visitors to my Forum - best yet, with one single click - I just added it to 221 sites, all on the front page! Do you know how long it takes me to build 221 one-way links normally? I don't even want to think about it....
It get's even better - those one-way links are all "alt-text" anchored (for mouse-over and SEO), and the banner sits just below my Adsense - PERFECT!
AND even better than that...
I also figured out tonight how to create a direct link from a "User Article" on the front page of this site GO Telepresence - to another page listing all my domains for sale or lease. Which means that's another 242 one way links to my "Telepresence Related" sites! All with alt-text, anchored keywords, h1, h2 and h3 tags....
I'm so friggin' stoked, I can't stand it!
AND even better than what was even better than that.... LOL
I can actually write about it because hyperlinks are allowed at WhyPark!
If you read my first post that started this thread, you'll see that I went the long way around to get here. Sedo, NameDrive, Parked, etc. Nobody allowed links, which to me is like the most important item you can have for a domain. How can you have any traffic, if you can't have links driving people to your domain?
Nuff said.... Going to count links tonight instead of sheep
You rock. Please tell the crowd this isn't paid PR.
Hi All, I'm here to answer any questions on WhyPark. We've been slapped a bit by the major search engine, but we're recovering nicely.
If you can't get adsense to feed ads, the new WhyPark Ad feed is getting some nice paying clicks. My highest was .60, but in the last few days I have 3 in the $1.30-1.35 range.
I can assure everybody I'm not paid for the Press LOL! I'm just excited to see the actual bottom line here lately.
I was just tired of "standard" domain parking and waiting.... and waiting, and waiting.... and was looking for alternatives to Sedo, Parked and NameDrive when I found Whypark.
I had read Whypark was going to have a feed, and that's when I decided to make the changeover. I figured even if I got bounced at Google, I would have a back-up.
Shifting gears....
What's with the referral program? Do I have to place banners, or code on my Whypark sites? - Or does it automatically give me the credit if somebody signs up after clicking on Whypark from one of my domains? I don't see any tracking code in the links.... I read in a e-mail that a referral pays like $43 each? What do I have to do to sign up, or enter that program?
Then follow the instructions on set-up in WhyPark it's pretty simply. Then when some clicks on the Powered by WhyPark or the Build Content Rich Sites it will refer them to whypark.com. Here's my link from aginglist.com:
Notice, the ?hop=easybayus, thats the clickbank hop data. You get about $45 a sign-up.
To be honest, I've never received a sign-up from the link. But you say so many good things about WhyPark, you could put the affiliate links in your posts.
Soooo.... I'm still getting the hang of it here Alan....
If anybody wants to sign-up for Whypark - Use this referral link - Whypark Sign-up
Reading up on it now - I did notice now that I signed up for Clickbank and entered my id into my Whypark control panel, my sites used to say "Powered by Whypark", and now they say "Develop Your Domain Names".
Hi L2: Your affiliate link is working now from your sites link - Build Content Rich Websites. #1 and #2 on google on my computer to for telepresence studio. Did you do any inbound linking to get the high ranking or do you think its the descriptive domain.
I'm smiling here - I just BOUGHT and Whyparked this GoTelepresence domain a few days ago (like 3 or 4!) - Check Google Results for Go Telepresence
#1
I know this is starting to sound like some kind of Press Release for Whypark, but I'm just an ordinary stooge that can't believe I've found something that actually works and makes some money....
