small blog post - SEO

I will want to discuss here about small blog post.

If you create small blog post, Google search engine not give good popularity to your post.

Someone told that Google only like long articles for indexing top of their search result.

I will request you to post your valuable opinion with your experience.

No it is not 100% true and it is not 100% false.

I have personally posted articles around 2000 words and 200 words. They all rank very well for their keywords and nothing bad is happening. It has to be on the point and relevant. Content should be unique and of course some deep links will help it more.

But yes just going for the kill will also not do. Like you keep on posting 1 or 2 line blog posts forever then maybe it might get penalized.

you might want to read the paragraph about "optimal content length" here: http://www.searchenginepanel.com/se...imized-content/

too short isn't good but too long isn't good either. and it also depends on whether your content is crawlable. who told you that google only likes long articles??

As a generalization long posts are seen as more credible plus hold a greater chance of having long-tail keywords that will pull in traffic. That said, I’ve seen many shorter posts do well because they are on point and people are motivated to link to them.

If you have a post you want to publish that is too long to expect people to sit and read in one session it's a good idea to break it into pieces and post over a few days. Make the part 1, part 2, etc so everyone knows they are related, and target keyphrases for each portion.

Blog posts are not meant to be novellas.

I will want to write topics related to products, website, new release etc. Avg. 100 to 150 words per article. I will also want to get avg.2000 visitors per day from Google SE. Less word article generate good traffic from Google or not.
