I can't believe you just posted the dumbest thing ever spoke and agreed with it. Why are the end users dumb? Cause they won't pay $10,000 for your .info just because Buysdomains has the same .com listed for $10,000? I mean come on that is just an absolutely ignorant statement. You claim to want to make a living buying, regging, and selling domains and yet you call your customers dumb as bricks, smooth move.
I don't understand your point about paying $10,000 for a .info. or what that has to do with end users buying up domains.
End users are as dumb as bricks because they go merrily on their way, spending their advertising budgets on newspaper and radio, print ads, tv ads, ads spashed on the sides of everything from buses to girls chests.
The biggest advertising delivery system ever invented, the internet does not get their attention. Just like Rick S said. Rick has brought much knowledge to the domain communtiy. If you have never read his blog you will not have a clue what I am really saying here.
The majority of domain names that would launch all these business into orbit are still sitting in the halls of every auction house parked next to millions and millions of other domains.
Why are they sitting there?.
I will tell you why. Those who should be buying them, all the business owners are not. If these business owners were not dumb as bricks they would be snapping up the names like hotcakes and domain owners would be happy.
That is one area Rick S. has a full understanding of. Stupid is doing what we have been doing for a very long time. Sitting around waiting for names to sell.
This is domainer propaganda, a domain name is not the secret to enternal success on the internet, it is one small part. It is foolish to think enduser are "dumb as bricks" because they choose not to spend much on your product. I think this does happen in a lot of industries though, lawyers will tell you that it is wise to spnd on legal fees, car dealers think it is wise to update your care often, hairdressers will tell you that you should get your haircut every 4 weeks with the latest style. Domainers think endusers should be snapping up every domain name in sight related to their industry with scant regard to what kind of ROI those buyers can actually get from those names. At the end of the day the problems in the industry lie at the feet of those in it, don't blame the customers.
I am saying they are stupid for spending billions of dollars advertising everywhere else than the internet. The end user does not need most lame names. But there are millions of domains that those end users should be buying, but they are slow to get it.
Word it anyway you want, slow to get it or as I say thick as a brick.
Welcome back -db-! (I haven't been around much myself!) I enjoyed the Angry Domainer vids, I chuckled to hear Alice In Chains "Man In The Box" as your opening song on vid 1 as it's one of my fave songs! As for the ongoing topic of this thread; I found the "grand openings" to be hilarious as many others did, I think if he could see the reactions of people visiting his pages he might decide to change his wording on the matter. Then again, maybe he did it tongue in cheek as most people visiting his pages knows he owns them or knows he's a major domain holder. Who really knows, only he can explain.
Like the business down the road that has a bill board up that reads, "best chicken on the planet". The statement has no basis in fact. Yet it is branding genius at work. Where are you going to go if you want chicken for dinner and you see two resturants side by side. Are you going to walk into the one that has a sign "good eats here and chicken too" Or are you going to walk in with your family to the resturant that has a sign "worlds best chicken."
Branding for a long enough time establishes the brand in the buyers mind forever. That is what Rick has done. You would need a million dollars worth of ad space to delete the branding efforts Rick has put into his slogan.
You can call him a pig, a dirtbag, whatever. In the end every new domainer will know him as the domain king. Every marketing company or end user that may buy a name from him will know he is the domain king. Domain king typed into Google does not bring up your or my name, or the thousands of other domainers, some who make millions of dollars a week. No, it does not. It brings up the person who will be forever called the domain king, Mr. Rick Schwartz. That is very positive for Rick S. as he is known as the most prominent domain person on the planet.
Efforts to expose Rick as some kind of liar is ridicoulous. Like I say it would not matter in the least if a million "Angry Domainers" called him on his hype.
There is not one thing that could dethrone him, even the facts.
He has he brand.
Branding is very valuable.
Rick is all about branding.
He doesn't care if domainers think his boast "the domain king" is out of line. He invented the term. Its his forever if he never developes a name. He owns that phrase.
Too him, Imo his parked pages are developed. End of story.
As always the domain king wins.
