Dot-org domain name fees to rise by 10% |
Gotta make up for falling price of the dollar. Inflation will never stop. Even if McCain, Obama, or Hillary becomes pres, nothing will change. Our money is fabricated out of thin air. Go Ron Paul :) |
buy and sell like crazy |
You ain 't seen noth'in yet, I have made many posts that inflation may very well push reg prices thru the roof. Oh it would be nice to reg all mine ten years out. |
hopes this not affecting others , thought this might not be a good news but it could be even worse (Imagine someone tells you after 5 years , "i registered my domain for $100") |
Its one big joke... Holy crap. Read the article what a joke. Two parts stand out. Public Interest Registry, which operates the ".org" domain name, disclosed the planned fee increase in a May 1 letter to the Internet's key oversight agency, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers. The fee increase does not require the organization's approval. The increase brings the annual fee to $6.75. Last year, PIR imposed a 2.5 percent fee increase to $6.15. PIR did not cite a reason in its letter. No reason given and ICANN can't stop it! Don't say the economy is the problem. PIR has certain fixed costs and their variable costs on any domain reg is so small. They should be rolling in cash thanks to every renewal. They should have recovered tons of any initial costs thanks to all the renewals over the years. Its a big &^%$* joke. |
No one likes price increases but I can't say Im in the least surprised. Why back when I was a whippersnapper we could pull coms off trees for a buck and fed fresh regged info's to the dog for breakfast ;) |
