· #1 | | NamePros Member | outbreak.tv Just bought outbreak.tv from tdnam. Has traffic. Paid $54 + reg so $93 all up. I forgot about the high reg fee for TV at godaddy so i am kicking myself a little for buying it. I hope it will generate enough moola over the year to pay back the cost. What do you think...did i do well or did i make a mistake?
I also notice wading through that although dot tv is hyped up as the next best thing to dot com or even overtaking dot com it seems to me to be lagging a poor last in all of the xtns. When i look at names all xtns are usually regged except tv and even the dot us is gone in most cases and i have noticed some good sales on sedo for dot us, so maybe dot us is the one to watch? |

| I like Outbreak.tv though i'm unsure it has any current value.
How much traffic does it have?
.tv will NOT be taking over .com anytime but the extension is doing very well IMHO Look at past sale prices and you will notice a number of decent .tv sales, much higher prices than previous years with many domains going up in value by a great amount
Personally i think .tv will do very well with prices rising year after year though dont expect miracles.
Good Luck with Outbreak.tv, do you have any plans for it or did you buy in the hope of a quick flip?? |

· #3 | | NamePros Member | Thanks for your reply Ronnie. I bought it for a quick sale but am skeptical now that i think about it. Missed out on a couple of good tv's recently.... oops.tv and rollingstones.tv. I have dogy.tv which i thought is ok. Will stick outbreak on Sedo to see how the traffic goes. |

| I dont think you missed out on much by not getting Oops.tv or RollingStones.tv, i cant see much use for oops and Mick Jagger would come hunt you down with his big lips if you bought RollingStones.tv IMHO
I have been trying to think of a natural use for Outbreak.tv but so far i have came up blank, the only possible use i can see is for a TV show or Movie called Outbreak (i believe there was a movie a while back)
With there not being too many natural development ideas then the possible buyers are few & far between, with this in mind i think you could struggle to get any interest on this domain even though it is very catchy.
The positives for this is that it is memorable, short, very easy to spell, can fit well with video content and you said it has traffic (all depends how much traffic though)
In my view you will be lucky to find a buyer for this unless a TV/Movie company plans something titled Outbreak or maybe a domainer will buy it if the traffic earn a small income.
Good Luck |

· #6 | | NamePros Member | Hi..thanks for all your input. It looks like outbreak was either a tv series or a segment of a tv series showing in 1996. Can't figure out which. Don't think it made it to oz as don't remember it. Oh well, will see how the traffic goes. Have made worse mistakes.....about a 100 of them if i look at the crappy names i have bought over the last year or so!!! |
