Wordpress = very easy to understand, best documentation, good plugins, modifications are easily possible and the wordpress codex is awesome for beginners. Queries like "what page am I currently on" are very easy to realize.
Joomla = very difficult for beginners, even a simple database query is not as simple as it could be. average documentation, tons of plugins
Very dynamic and complex backend system (therefore slower than others), it's very very flexible and has far more settings than most other cms. |
