Market for .FM Domains Does anyone know what the Market for .FM Domains is like? |
Here are the .fm sales I managed to find : 1 sale in 2005 : tropical.fm $200 3 sales in 2006 : london.fm $4,939 fast.fm $750 wines.fm $170 7 sales in 2007 : vietnam.fm $1,000 gays.fm $906 o.fm $11,111 fashion.fm $800 listen.fm $3,930 russia.fm $4,517 gps.fm $500 4 sales in the beginning of 2008 : fashion.fm $1,809 webradio $345 emma.fm $90 lost.fm $600 So as you can see, there are very few .fm sales but there's a slight increase over the years. Note that these are only reported sales and I would expect .fm sales to be typically the kind of sales that would remain private. I also noticed that many good .fm domains are already taken and parked, which means that there are quite a lot of people who like them, especially when you consider the high renewal fee and the low number of reported sales. Finally I do own a few top .fm domains and they do have a very decent amount of type-in traffic everyday. :) |
Thanks for this |
95$ reg fee :td: i think its a great ext for music so many fm channels are there :) |
Depends where you register them. You can register .fm domains with GoDaddy for $69.99 (minus coupons, or even $62.99 if you're on the DCC). |
I am keeping my .fm domains for the end-user: Pal.FM British.FM Select.FM Smart.FM Deutsche.FM |
I have just one .fm which I registered about 5 months ago - I think it was a drop. www.Greece.fm Alex |
country name dropped  nice catch :tu: btw i liked you serp adsense privacy thanks using that :) |
Great geo... How much do you think its worth? Anyone else with any idea on the value of Greece.fm? |
nice domains. I think the market is growing slightly for fm-domains. A great extension for radio broadcasting sites. I have black.fm since oct. 2006 with daily visits. |
This google trends graph shows .fm not really going anywhere along with .cc .ws and .mobi http://google.com/trends?q=.fm%2C.c...date=all&sort=0 The controversial .tv blows them all away. http://google.com/trends?q=.fm%2C.w...date=all&sort=0 Adding a more established ccTLD of .ca puts them all to shame and Canada is a small country. http://google.com/trends?q=.fm%2C.t...date=all&sort=0 The comment earlier about lots of parked pages is not a good sign, it means lots of speculators and no users which is where the money eventually has to come from. When supply is much higher then demand prices plummet. I still see value in these ccTLD's but the strategy has to be different then with .com, only the very best premium names are worth having in .fm or .tv People would do well to develop while sitting on some of these expensive names that may not pay off for a long time if ever. |
