I just got contact lenses yesterday, so glad to not have to wear glasses half the time.
So far I like them, other than my eyes get a little irritated when I put them in, and yesterday (the first time I have had to take them out) it took me an hour to get them out! I am not good with not blinking when I am touching my eye
I am lucky that I don't have handicap eyes until now (30) (maybe I am not a good reader and I don't use PC that much). Hope they are going to go well for the next 20 years
american eye institute offers eye laser tech here I never tried them out yet, but it's a yearly treatment, it'll remove your glasses and contacts as well.
yeah that's what they call it, they offer it here like U.S.$500/year
my eye was diagnosed and Im wearing a 300 eye glass on left and 314 on right eye. near sighted. but if I view the monitor I have to remove them so i can see the letters. I only need them to read signs and billboards and a feet across i guess i can't recognize faces so i have to wear them.
I have to make my eye small and focus and my eyebrows will "kiss" each other making me look like angry and if not wearing eye glass I bypass people that i know never even say good morning to them, but contacts i really can't wear I have sensitive eyes
Congrats on the new eyes! I've had contacts for 20+ years and they are worth any trouble you have in the early days, weeks or months.
Yeah, this is one thing that takes a while to get used to. From my experience, and most recently watching my kid learn hers, you just have to keep working at it, have confidence, and then one day you'll be doing it so easily, your friends will FREAK OUT watching you touch your eyeballs.
I was scarred as a kid. They gave me the hard contacts to use and they just totally messed me up. I'll never try contacts again, not even those soft ones that everybody uses.
I've never had them but want to get some I think. Or have Lasik surgery. When I was in second grade I had to wear a patch on my right eye because my left eye is a "lazy eye".. It was funny.
No worries bud, you'll get used to it soon. I've had mine for nearly two years now, and I love them. At first I was very bad with the whole touching the eye thing, but I got over it. Glasses are a pain in the butt ...
Welcome to the world of sight. I've had contacts for a while now but still enjoy my glasses occasionally. I still have a good 15+ years if I wanted to get lasik done. By that I mean everything they tell you about having to get glasses later on as your eyes become "lazy". I always thought it was ironic that my Optometrist was the one who was telling me not to get lasik, as if he needed the business. Honestly 15 or 20 years without anything in or around your eyes would be worth it. Who knows, by that time they may have a procedure for that too.
Great! Although my elder sister wore them for years and according to her they were such a hassle (buying the right treatment solutions, washing the lenses, knowing which one goes for which eye). She did the lasik laser eye surgery a few months ago.
I'm always on the PC, but I got my eyes checked a few months ago and according to the optician, I didn't need glasses.
there are occasional dusty winds here i think my uncle wears contacts and he still need to wear an eyeglass just to prevent wind from blowing his eyes.
You won't regret that you got contacts, I've had them for 9 years and would never go without them now. Touching your eyes will get easier as you adjust to them. You'll be able to touch both eyes like it's nothing after you get use to putting them in/taking out. Just takes time.
As long as you wash your hands well before putting in/taking out then there should be no problems with infections. I've had 1 eye infection in the last 9 years. Also they fit on your eye very tight so them falling out is unlikely. The only time they could fall out is if you take a shower with them in or fall asleep and wake up with them being dry.
Not sure how they're a hassle, I've had contacts for about 9 years with no problems. They're hardly any work to clean...take them out and put them in the case of solution over night. The cases have 2 different colors or an "R" for the right eye...pretty easy to tell which one goes in which eye IMO. The cleaning solution you'd just get the same kind every time.
I can't stand wearing glasses and have probably wore my glasses about 10 times in the 6 years I've had them. I'd be lost without contacts. You get so use to contacts that you can't even tell you've got them in.
