Sig links are great to boost your backlinks although their aren't great quality as most are PR0 or nofollow, don't get me wrong there are some high PR threads in forums out there, but overall it is great because it is quality and quantity when it comes to backlinks! :D

robodesignsolutions 07-05-2008 04:35 AM

Yes, definately

Yes

I'd say so for backlinks & traffic from forums just like this.

traffic from sig advertising is always great and considered to be organic...

MrCat 07-10-2008 02:54 PM

I was able to make our directory rank in the major SE's for some relevant keywords in its niche solely by my forum sigs. Traffic and conversion is also good ;)

milvos 08-04-2008 04:29 AM

Yes it is good especially if the links in are high PR pages and are relevent to your website. Even if they are not, they can not hurt.

Worlds'slastword 08-04-2008 05:06 AM

sig links dont worth more, these r worthless links

rationale 08-04-2008 09:15 AM

How do you sell space on your signature links?

Jacklin 08-06-2008 04:16 PM

If you post relevant to the topic your signature link can really bring good traffic to your website

bluearrow 08-07-2008 11:43 AM

I think direct traffic you get from signatures are better than bookmark site traffic. Not sure whether it helps search engine ranking.

coreyg 08-07-2008 01:24 PM

I rent out 3 lines of my signature...

The second line I keep for my sites... which I also change colours and rotate what sites I use.

Cheers
Corey

yes forum posting with signature link is very useful for seo purpose and it will increase back links and traffic

rocker314 08-29-2008 04:08 AM

for me yeah definitely.

sumo123 08-29-2008 12:59 PM

I think it is beneficial only in getting traffic but not backlinks as these are no follow links.

Takwa 08-29-2008 01:19 PM

sig drives loads of traffic to your sig, I got one sig banned from namepros and my traffic halved :(

It also depends on how "attractive" and relevant the sig link is.

bbalegere 08-29-2008 08:01 PM

Do sig links help in boosting PR?

gjvblack 08-29-2008 09:48 PM

I use signatures for marketing. It is really effective so i would say yes it is good to use it.

garylee12 08-29-2008 10:02 PM

They can only help

I have used sig files on many social bookmarking sites. I think that if you post a topic relevant to your website in your sig file and you sound informative about what you are talking about, it works. I got a lot of signups that way.

soggyindo 08-29-2008 11:31 PM

i've found them great. i have several sites without content yet in the top 3 search results for their relevant keywords - just from a NP sig link.

one thing for starters to keep in mind is the different uses between an in-post link and a sig link. eg

is one (pretty insignificant value) link. most good blog comments will probably do better.

but the same thing as a sig is 800x (or whatever your post count is) links. the problem with the latter is any benefit will just as quickly drop away when you change things out of your sig. blog links will stick around.

my plan is to use a sig as i'm developing, and then after just to the point where good content can get noticed by enough people. after that, it's on its own!

by the way, does anyone know the going rates for renting aline (or four) of someone else's sig at NP - or other forums? is it based on their post count?

dezinerite 08-30-2008 06:33 AM

I have a question: let's say I have a thousand posts. If I were to put a link on my sig, would that give the site 1000 backlinks?

axedbydax 09-05-2008 10:59 AM

sigs are very good way to get additional backlinks. The last time Ive checked via google webmaster tool, it shows that most my my links came from forums Ive posted with my sigs on. So to gain additional links, use sig and post on forums. Its a great way to get links as well as meet some new friends.

Jacklin 09-05-2008 11:45 AM

Its not necessary that if you did 1000 posts you will get 1000 backlinks. It totally depends on the quality of your post and how relevant your signature link is .. If the people visiting that thread find it relevant to their niche or interest then you will have backlinks .. You can have 1000 backlinks for even 100 posts and sometimes 10 backlinks for bad 100 posts too. Hope its clear to you now

It can bring backlinks as well as direct traffic.

soggyindo 09-07-2008 01:38 AM

remember for judging quality to check the page rank of the specific page your link will appear on, not the homepage of the site.

ie. namepros.com has a really high pagerank, but http://www.namepros.com/463887-are-...good-way-2.html (where we are now), is relatively low.

^ as was said above, the more the better (at the way the algorithm stands)

angilina 09-07-2008 01:46 PM

I think signature links can help to increase traffic. Amount of traffic depends on the Niche of the sites that you promote in signature.

I have 6000+ posts at a Forum and I get only 20 or so hits per day. I think it is because of the Niche of the sites.
