Have sold 6 .TV domains in the past month. All standard reg fees.
3 for just over $1,000 each. Another 3 for high $xxx. I was around in the late 90's with some good .coms and never enjoyed those kind of sales in a month with .com's then.
The major impediment to .tv imho is the premium pricing system which causes so much uncertainty. The future could be very bright for .tv but I can go with those who say it might not be just because of the premium pricing system...

Largest sale to date that I've had was a .TV, private sale. Actually, 2 of my 3 largest sales have been .TV, and no doubt in my mind the amounts will keep increasing over time.
i guess we all have a different view ....... me i see a 'internet tv show' called dateshow , WHO WILL YOU VOTE FOR ???? if you think things like this are not viable your nuts i think !!! , the internet = 20 years old and we are already talking about .tv , i think it's great and can only see growth ..... yes growth and if not today then tomorrow , ............ hey folks these are the early days , it seems so many here are just inpatient , yep it may take time for your investment to mature .....oh no who would have guessed !!!! eq78 has said it before ........develope , it's an option if you cant wait for your investment , other than that wait , because it is coming
Very well said! I, too, do not think of .tv as a domainer trend, but an internet trend, which is growing every day. More will see .tv as an alternative to the .com, or a nice addition if they already have the .com tld. Granted the future of what verisign will ultimately do to the ext. is uncertain, if it becomes widely embraced, there will be a certain amount of security in that.
i think, if people step back- they can see .tv coming to fruition. in 2006, we knew we were on to something, but we needed the world to take notice. and now, they are. slowly but surely.
we still need a solid time for more dev and growth on the web- if you watch .tv trends- it is taking a sure and steady path upwards. not spike up, spike down- slow and steady growth.
but, there is still time to be had. its like presenting any new product to a market. take a new cola.
you can do an ad blitz, have a spike in sales, but if it doesnt hold its weight, it fizzles out.
but, if it is a good cola, it hits the market, slowly word of mouth gets around, and you begin to build a base of loyal buyers.
over time, sales grow, and the next thing you know it becomes a hot item, and all the stores want to sell it. :-)
domains are no different than real life- people > product.
sometimes we just think that it should cause some landslide in sales right off the bat because "we" love the cola :-)
but, there is a whole world out there- LOTS of people to get to. its a big earth- takes time!

And why is that ? Precisely because .tv is a developers extension rather than purely a speculators extension.
Developing great videocentric .tv websites does take a long time, much more than speculating and creating some hype around something worthless. But instead of tons of parked pages like many other extensions, there is actually a lot of brilliant developed websites on .tv domains, websites that are used on a daily basis by an increasing amount of average Internet users. That can only be good for the long-term value of .tv domains.
By the way, cola.tv is still available if you're interested.
