StumbleUpon Traffic... Recently one of my tutorials got "stumbled" by someone and during that day my traffic exploded with people using StumbleUpon. At the peak I had 266 from it over a time period of 5 minutes, and over the day I accumulated 100s of visitors. Now I have not had a visitor from StumbleUpon since that day... so how exactly does the traffic work because I got the impression that it would keep getting stumbled over time? Do I need to maintain a certain amount of thumbs up to keep getting traffic or something? Sorry if this is in the wrong forum. |
social bookmarking is awsome! I got 20,000 uniques for www.BestWebDesignerOnEarth.com/oldsite.htm on the first day it tool 2 weeks to fizzle to about 100/day - then 2 weeks ago again it had another explosion of 7000 uniques. De.icio.us Digg and Reddit are also gr8 |
Some how your site gets listed on as a hot site or something. This has happen to me a couple of times but it only lasted a day each. |
I think when someone stumbles your site it becomes "newly stumbled" or something to that effect and hundreds or possibly thousands of people see it and click on it. I find stumble upon traffic or any other social bookmark traffic is hard to monetize. I also find the traffic to be hardly quality at all and they usually stay on the site anywhere from 0 seconds to 1 min on average. |
i had a stumbleupon spike in the traffic two, but after two days...nothing . i am not sure how this goes, maybe if you are not on the top spot you are gone.. |
StumbleUpon isn't that great for recurrent visitor, all it does is drive a one-day spike of visitors to your site who may never visit again. |
it's best to be stumbled by a sponsor your url will appear on their friend's as well, as sponsored. http://www.stumbleupon.com/sponsors.php |
I have around 600 visitors from SU when I got a spike. Nothing afterwards from that day... |
Keep in mind that alot of your SU traffic is generated through your tags and how relevant those initial visitors deem your content |
