i would love to know how often it happens too.
last night i think about 5-6 of my sites i've been fighting to get indexed suddenly all did at the same time.

based on what i saw, title, desc gets updated within 24 hours or less. backlinks i think every 90 days, pls. someone correct me if im wrong.

they get updated as google finds out about them. you could speed up the process with fresh backlinks and submitting a sitemap.

of course! (i guess there's not a mr namepros furiously adding wordpress pages)
i guess i had an idea that the PR5 juice would flow through to the individual pages (and hence a bit to our signature links). but even the oldest, stickied, you'd-think-most-linked-to pages on NP i could find seemed PR0
