I believe once your sig and rep get above a certain level, more forum users tend to give creedence to your sites and possibly make you a bit of a source for information.

Where are your sigs?
Hello.
Q: How come the sigs of the posters in this thread aren't shown so we can see what each are referring to?
I noticed in some forum threads, sigs aren't shown when they used to be in the past. What's the update on this?

Show signature feature in profile
Thanks dgridley.
I hadn't visited the forum for a while until a few days ago. I see in the UserCP Profiles that there is an option to Show Signatures. Mine was unchecked. I guess there may have been a software upgrade here (?) because I don't remember this option before. Everytime I had visited this site in the past, I saw sigs.
Now I see why the strange replies from liquidcherry.
Cheers liquidcherry.
Thanks again, dgridley.

I suppose not too badly considering how very few posts I have.
Afterall, I did manage to sell a cheap domain with my last sig.

In my opinion, webboard sig. is drive traffic both direct and indirect effect in my web.
direct is from webboard community and indirect is effect to search engine bot.
for me it very effective method to promote website.

People who've purchased SIG links from me have reported good results as well.. I've started using Reddit and Digg alot so alot of my traffic now comes from those but my SIG ranks a close second or third!

I get a ton of traffic through my forum sigs.
I'm glad they don't make us pay for sigs here, some forums do.
Shhh, don't tell -RJ- though, that may give him the idea to charge

If your signature traffic is accounting for 50% of your traffic, then traffic to your site must be low because, i only get a few clicks/day to my site off it.

I get a few but not many clicks from my sig.
Hopefully as I gain more posts this will improve

There are various elements that go into this. Not only your post count, but how the sig is. If you just straight have the domain name, like:
Google.com
As opposed to:
Google - The #1 Search Engine In The World
Or something of the sorts, then it could decrease the clicks. I think it'd be much better if we were allowed to put some sort of imagery in there, possible a 468x60 ad bar? Just an idea

I'm pretty sure that if it's a domain-related links, the link will get quite a bit of clicks. If it's totally unrelated to anything we talk about on the forum, the link will get fewer clicks.
I've tried it with my own sites.

I think this statement holds very true.
