ive had 4000 impressions on my adsense account, does that mean anything or do i only earn when somebody actualy clicks on the advert

You could also earn for page impressions without any single click. :)

yes, but you'll only earn per impression if the ad is a cpm ad, and clicking a cpm ad won't make you cpc earnings.

Some ads pay for impressions but it is only $0.01 (at least that is the most I have gotten for an impression).

impression ads are based on thousands of impressions, and no single impression will bring you $0.01 ($10 CPM).

yes those are cpm ads, but none of those ad pay $0.01 per impression.

That's weird, I looked in the advanced reports and some days I would have ~300-400 impressions and 1 cent earned (no clicks).

pm replied to, but i thought i'd share it here in case anyone else was wondering.

when you first setup the campaign it will ask you if you want it to be ctr, cpm, or both. i believe you can still go in and change that now, and worse comes to worse you just have to set up a new campaign. no one knows how much cpm is and it probably changes anyway.

I didn't know you could do CPM ads.... I have looked everywhere but can't find anything about it, what page is the option on?

You can't choose but it is usually the banner ads. Just choose them

Its pretty random, but they don't often. Normally its just clicks.

I don't think you can choose CPM only ads but they definitely exist. I believe, they are just random.

that will be around 1cts or 2 cts per days for some impressions
