If the sale goes through, congratulations. If not, this is just another example of why this industry will never get out of the phase of it being considered a place for scam artists & squatters. This would also add one more piece of evidence towards the case that we need an ultimate location to buy & sell where fraud can't occur.

It was the last domain added....I was following the advice given by Yofie regarding the IREIT mess and there were:

AUTO.com
SWIN.com

in the top 2 spots, asking 5,000 min. offer for AUTO.com and $10,000 buy it now.

But don`t get me wrong, I doubt it`s legit, who would price it so low despite it is used as redirect?

after seeing the latest lll.com sales by IREIT i truely think anything is possible

Has to be a Scammer trying his luck

Auto.com points to Cars.com - both owned by Classified Ventures, LLC

I can't imagine they would be selling this, never mind at $10,000

bummer

Lorenzo, I would have done the same thing -- use the Buy it Now option, and hold payment.

Just to be sure, I'd contact the owner of AUTO.com, and perhaps even Afternic.

I hope this ends well for you italiandragon, but I just get the feeling that whoever owns a domain like AUTO.com would have an idea of fair market value if they were going to sell it.

I just got off the phone with this company, no one seems to know anything about this. Rather, not that it is or isn't accurate, but even who in the company I could speak with. No verification as of yet.

Maybe he put the wrong ext. by accident? Once I bought a .com that turned out to be .us, just an accident.

We were both upset, I thought I got a .com cheap and he thought he sold a .us for $$$.
