Social Security Number or Federal Tax Id #

For those of you in the United States, have you set-up a company with a Federal Tax ID # (EIN) or are you using your social security number in conjuncation with reporting your affiliate program revenues?

Generally, if your a sole proprietorship without employees you can use your SSN. If you have employees you will need the EIN.

Understood.

I am more curious to hear how people are handling this in actual application. Have they set-up a sole proprietorship with an EIN or are they just using their social security number?

It's much easier to use your SSN..the EIN is good if you would like to eventually incorporate for asset protection.
