Can you confirm that the .asia count is around 200,000 & not 2,000,000 I haven't been watching this extension as I didn't see how it was ever going to take off... I don't think .eu is very good but at least it is a trading entity and I know a few end users who have taken up the .eu extension for their businesses.

Asia isn't anything except a part of a map... it isn't a coherent body / union or collective. If there was ever an extension launched to milk the domaining community it was this one... if it is true that only 200,000 registrations remain 'live' I think that says everything. Especially as the IDNs being rolled out this year & next will allow registration of non-roman alphabet characters & script.

The figure of 211,908 is the number of .asia domains in the .asia zone this morning.

The .eu is widely regarded as a joke in Europe. The main extensions here are the ccTLDs. The .asia sTLD is aiming at a region without such a political identity.

The .asia is currently in its Junk Dump phase when the highly speculative domains that were registered during the landrush that could not be sold or monetised are dumped. The .asia may be lucky if it stabilises just under 200K domains. I don't expect it to grow rapidly.

.EU may be used as a political identity but .Asia is not a political identity. It is a business identity I believe, which is better, because in Asia you do not have a one and ominous system as the EU. There is no agreement in Asia over politics only on business. Which again is better when comparing to .EU

.Asia is just as new as .CN,.JP.KR (not in terms of years) but in terms of public use and growing appetite for information online. Therefore its not too behind.

It does not show domains that have been deleted from the zone or domains that have no associated nameservers.

Let's see: .cn was at 13,594,604 as of 30/April/2009. The .jp and .kr domains are around 1 Million domains each. The .au would be around 1 Million domains as well. The .in would be roughly 400K. So that's roughly 17 Million domains compared to 211,908 domains.

I was expecting it to go below 200K domains in early June. It is down to 211,908 domains as of today. If it stabilises around 200K, it will be doing well.

So how many of these secret domains exist?

Probably over 10,000-15,000 of those secret domains that have no name server whatsover file...
I am estimating from using the actual reported to ICANN by the Dot Asia registry for the lagging months of OCt, NOV, DEC, JAN 08-09 and comparing those with your official stats.

Took the differences and it looks like at 10,000-15,000 lagging.

slots.asia i got offer for $14,000 last week rejected it too low for .asia such a huge rech of 72 countires.

Since the bidder wasn't able to get slots.asia for USD 14000 I thought maybe he/she would be interested in buying videoslots.asia from me.

Not according to Sedo. They refused to offer it to this potential buyer because videoslots.asia is not good enough for a brokerage action. I couldn't believe it.
All they have to do is send him/her an email. If a sale is made they get 10%. How much easier can it be?
I am very surprised they don't want to make money.
They have a potential buyer. Why not take action and make some cash?

I have domain that was getting x,xxx offers. On my sedo management page, I wanted to send it to premium auction. More than once, never was accepted, it was rejected for "quality" reason. Even though the domain receive x,xxx offers. Anyway.

Sedo does control the domainer's industry...

Online Doctor domains have both recently started getting traffic. Rising steadily each month. The singular is getting slightly more; nothing huge, around 10 uniques per day.

iTax.asia & iValue.asia
These get 4-5 visitors per month. But CTR seems to be really good and $1+ per click.

They're not the greatest of names... but anywhooo... I invested in just 10 or so .asia's. Sold a couple to pay for renewal fees on the rest for a couple years plus a few clicks here n there more than make-up for renewals. Of course, thats not to say that I think .asia is a great extension... it has potential, but its still far too soon to judge it.

What I want to know is where can I find lists of available/expired names? I haven't seen any decent threads on NP with lists. So please PM me if you can point me in the right direction - I may invest in a few more decent names.
