True, a lot of people other than domainers don't know the last thing about the value of domain names. All they know is, "shit, the .COM is not available" once in a lifetime when the urge or need strikes then just go register mycatswhiskers4u.com without bothering to contact the registrant.
People hate to be scalped, and have this feeling that they will be scalped if they contact the registrant.
