Forum design for my new site. All designed by me, inc logo, followed the PHPBB forum layout. Comments needed for improvements! V.1 http://img442.imageshack.us/img442/...ixforum2sm5.jpg V.2 http://img503.imageshack.us/img503/...clix3ripbh7.jpg V.3 http://img267.imageshack.us/img267/...clix5rippp0.jpg |
The logo looks a bit awkward with the dog sticking out of the "o". At the same time, using the head of the dog as the new post icon is a great idea. For the forum colors, i'd resort more to brown tones as i've yet to see a dog with orange fur. ...unless Paris Hilton is creating a new ridiculous trend. M. |

Thanks for the comment Mike. I hear what your saying but to much brown can be negative and depressing? I want it to be bright and colorful to reflect the fun nature of a dog. On more of a development view i also want it to have a web 2.0 feel. I like the idea about the brown and tried to incorporate some :) Update: http://img503.imageshack.us/img503/...clix3ripbh7.jpg |
Tomi, great designs I can see a lot of potential. I much prefer version 2 over 1 and have a few suggestions for you; - Space out the actual forums a little, it feels a little cluttered. Could be the bolded descriptions, try un-bolding them and see how it looks. - The 'Dog' in your slogan (coloured orange) doesn't stand out as it's bright on a bright background, blends in more than the blue. Brown can look good if you use it right, here's an example; http://thingsthatarebrown.com/ Love the navigation and side bar. Good luck ;) |
I like the added black to the layout. I still feel the dog and o should be one color. |
