we have been buying up 2-word 6-letter domains under the same theory. the .mobi aftermarket caught us by surprise too btw. nice optimistic post

I think we all think we didn't start investing in short domains early enough

If I would have started LLLL.com domaining a couple years before I did, I could have bought a pile of quad premium LLLL.coms at regfee...

Or how about buying LLL.coms for $400 in '04 on eBay instead of watching the auctions and wondering why people would pay $400+ for QXZ.com (sound familiar?)

There were major opportunities to invest early in LLL.net/.org, NNNN.coms, CCC.coms that I let slip by, just as many people today have watched but ignorantly chosen not to invest in LLLL.coms, LLLL.nets, NNNNN.coms, ...

We can't get it right everytime and I'll admit to being a skeptic of NNNNN.coms early on and missing out on yet another excellent investment opportunity. I didn't understand the market dynamics of NNNNN.coms and made an opinion about them without analyzing the facts, something one should never do

But people do it everyday... There are a few people out there that still think LLLL.coms are all going to drop sometime between Aug-Nov. Most of these naysayers have smartened up and are now saying something along the lines of "Quad premium and pronounceable LLLL.coms will have significant value, but appreciation on the rest will be negligible." It's a start I guess...

You're not late at all, matter of fact, you're very early to the game. When we look at all the potential endusers, acronyms, and sheer brandability out there for short domains, one has to really wonder how an LLL.com can still be had under $10k, how a quad premium LLLL.com can be had for as little as $400, how a quad premium LLLL.net can be found for ~ $10-$15, how an NNNNN.com can be found for about 1/30th of an NNNN.com, how an anti-premium LLLL.com fetches 1/200th what a comparable LLL.com fetches,... As much as I like .mobi being the mobi mod and all, I could never grasp how an LLL.mobi could fetch more (LLL.mobi ~ $200+ ) than an LLLL.com...

There's alot of stuff that doesn't make much sense in domaining... This is only the beginning and I would like to argue, one of the most intelligent domain name segments you could possibly choose to invest in. Ten years down the road, people will be slapping themselves silly for missing out on investing in something so obvious as short domains.

...And the funniest thing is no matter who says it & no matter how many times it's said, many (esp. new) domainers just don't really pay attention until it's too late.

Question Quad Premium Llll.co With Double Letters

hey guys i got iiBc.com for $1.1K, i think its a bit expensive cost price, wat do u guys feel?

I read here that LLL.com are still cheap at less then $10k but is this the risk worth taking taking into account the tm issues, i feel if u have the money buying a NNN.com or net is more safe

This seems like a forward thinking group. Do you think that text messaging (cell phones) has affected the english language enough to change what people might type into web browsers? Specifically I'm referrring to the shortening of almost every word to a single letter. Thoughts?

Yes, the other trend that may be a huge source for growth is numeric domains, since it is a lot easier to enter 466453.com (represents "google" on a numeric keypad"), which google owns, than to type in "google.com" on a cell phone. Scott over at numericdomains.com says the numeric takes only 14 dial pad inputs whereas spelling out "google.com" on a cell phone keypad takes 36 dial pad inputs. So I think it is very likely we will see a move to numeric domains for mobile phone browsing.
