10,000 Hits Per Day But No Money

Hi guys,

I recently started a website (3 weeks ago) on video game articles and news. I have had a inflow of daily traffic this week from getting linked, and have been getting a steady flow of traffic upwards of 10,000 views per day on average. I have google adsense, but don't seem to be making any money.

My Page Impression count for today alone is at 6,700, but i have checked my revenue and it just says i have made $0.08 all time. Am i doing something wrong?

Please help!

wow...i would shoot myself...JJ....but you may want to try adbrite. I've seen certain sites do absolutely horrible with Adsense, but make a ton with Adbrite (and vice versa...depends on the niche).

Also, consider ad placement. If your not sure where and what size your Adsense blocks should be watch a few vids on youtube (about adsense best practices).

Hope that helps a bit.

From experience, you have some pretty bad luck. 10K hits, should be getting you about 100 clicks a day at a minimum. Or at least that is what I see.

Are your ads related to your content?

Can you post a link to your site?

what are you main sources of traffic? 10k per day average is quite high given only three weeks.

I didnt get you
i was thinking how does a website gets in three weeks popular and getting 10k visits ?
i think it is viral traffic like stumbleupon if it is real traffic then i would surely say you would get some clicks atleast

Hi guys,

Thanks for the input.

My website is WiiBlurb(dot)com. I believe one of my articles is on Stumbleupon or something like that. Yesterday i got 25,000 hits, and no revenue.

It's hard to place the ad more strategically because i am using GoDaddy Blogcast, and it's pretty basic as far as where you can put things. Are any of you familiar with their program?

Any tips would help.

i have multiple articles submitted and stumbledupon and nowhere near 25k hits total.

use statcounter, google analytics, or some other way to see where people are coming from instead of guessing. otherwise you could be putting your adsense account at risk...

I am not familar with blogs and one i can suggest to you change the adsense color to brown as just your side bar color

as shockie said do that you can the only know about it.

and also i suggest to you to keep ads just below posts try if you dont know search in google

10k hits/day is huge, and it's hard to get that huge even for a very older site. You should check carefully the static, use google analytic for convenient.

Other thing you can do is to check the
Page impressions Clicks Page CTR Page eCPM [?] Earnings
in google adsense report.

For your reference, I have a website with 10k hits/day but I need 2 year to get this number and Google adsense revenue is about $30-$100/day.

I think part of the reason for no revenue is the stumbleupon traffic.

My experience is that stumbleupon does not really create any revenue. It is great to get your name out there though.

I think you need to wait for some time until you get more targeted traffic via google, etc. Then you will start earning some money. :$:

But it seems that your site is popular so keep up the good work. :)

Hope this helps.

Fabian

Is there any tips on how to get this kind of revenue as far as Adsense goes?

Should i forego Adsense and use another Ad program, like Adbrite?

Also, I just incorporated google analytics into the site yesterday, and this is what it is showing me as far as stats so far (i put averages so i don't get in trouble from adsense - which apparently can happen... i a bit of a noob):

between 3500-4000 Visits
8000-9000 Pageviews
2.20 Pages/Visit 38.20% Bounce Rate
00:01:21 Avg. Time on Site
around 96 % New Visits

How about adsense stat?
Page impressions, Clicks, Page CTR, Page eCPM, Earnings? Those are more infomative

Just thought I would mention - I just visited your website and below
the header there is about 3 pages of white space above the content.

tell us what analytics say about how much traffic is actually coming from stumbleupon and what your main sources of traffic are when the stats refresh.
