I just installed Firefox....any advice?

Finally I quitted I.E. and installed Firefox, I must say it`s nice and faster.

I`m just trying to get used to it......it`s has been only few minutes.

Biggest issue:

since I never have time to organize my favourites in I.E. and I just imported them........and they are hundreds if not thousands

at least in I.E. I could get faster to the bottom of the list, while here it`s a pain scrooling them all.

Any solution? I must organise them lol

Anything I really need to add (add-ons) ?

How about Antivirus/Firewall ?

Thanks

Nope, I.E. is faster than firefox imo, but I never liked I.E.

Once you get used to it you will never think about going back to I.E. :)

Create folders and place all links in appropriate folders.

Hi mate, thanks for the help :) Honestly I don`t know why but on Vista IE was 3 times slower than Firefox.

I did not even know that I could use both at the same time......it`s cool because with Firefox I don`t have the problems in updating my Blog!!

If you are a developer you cannot do without the Firebug plugin (but make sure you disable it when not developing). Another nice developers addon is the YSlow plugin that analyzes websites and tells you what you should do to speed them up.

Your into internet business so its good to have it installed to know about the traffic websites you visit recieve and it does not take a lot of space, just a little space in the status bar on the right hand side and you will see the alexa rank and graph showing site traffic ups and downs :tu:

IE7 is better than ff2 IMHO. I'm waiting for ff3.

well, I develop only a couple of sites but I`m not into developing as work, just sites for me.

Thanks

I already found a very reputable site that does not accept Firefox:

Australian Government... :td:

What I don't like about both IE7.0 and firefox are the tabs. Therefore I'm using IE6.0. It is fine. But if I wanted to switch to firefox I would disable tabs. You can do so with this small addon. I have tested it and it works perfectly.

The only thing I even like in IE7 is the tab browsing. I am someone who opens up atleast 20 web instances at once and tabbed browsing really helps for that. Just Shift+click and the link pops out in a new window. Real cool feature. Btw firefox rocks!!

Opera is also excellent. opera.com ...
I tried IE7 and still prefer Firefox or Opera to it. :)

Why I Like FireFox? One word stability.

My experience has been I had 13 windows open with other tabs in each in doing research. Seven windows where in Firefox, six windows in IE.

I reached a point where system was maxed. Note this, all six IE windows shut down.

All seven Fiefox windows remained up and running.

I will never go back to IE.

Once you use Firefox and start using the additional features, you will do the same.

I am a designer, but especially when IE didn't support PNG. and gif was terrible quality.
I had to use firefox.

One day though, I was using IE then it didnt work. Was too lazy to fix, so opened up firefox and I am happy to say for over 2 years now, I still use firefox. Though on my Mac, FF is slow for some reason, and safari works perfectly, so I am happy with that :P

coyote_tls 02-23-2008 11:22 AM

Used firefox for over 2 years now, with no problems. no matter what "updates" IE does firefox will always stay one step ahead. I think we got a bit off the main topic tho lol

You really need to install AdBlock Plus and the Web Development toolbar. Very nice IMO.
