I mean if a guest can not see the contents of the forum, but you put adsense in the content, does it follow adsense's TOS? I thought I remember in the adsense early days, it was not allowed to have adsense when the contents can only be viewed by regged users, but now I double checked the TOS, did not find any such restriction. I think those mods are to let google index you, not to fool adsense bot.

When did you ask google support? Was it recently?
