Its a beautiful name - clearly all premium, lots of acronym possibilities. I would love to be in the bidding, but I see this going higher.
Finished at 15k. I just got home and it showed >1min, went to the "last minute" page and it was not able to put my bid in, dammit! Great buy for the last bidder.

FTN was a great buy. I would have expected between 16K-17K.

I just have a quick question for many of you LLL.com domainers out there. Where do you see LLL.com's going in a one year time period? I can only see them continually increasing in value, but to what extent? Do you think they will continue on their current path?

I think they'll grow exponentially (not linear) each year, that's what they have been doing up until now.

Here are the facts.

There are approximately 17000 - LLL.com's

Many of them, are developed and in the hands of end-users. A chunk are in the hands of resellers who will continue to demand higher and higher prices. With more and more money coming into this industry, they are in greater demand, but even less supply.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/short-domain-discussion/429599-lll-com-sales-report-discussion-thread.html

I expect prices one year from now to hit around the 13-15k in resale. I think out of all of the different domain "classes" this is the safest bet.

How much easier can someone make 50%+ returns in a year? You don't even have to do anything...

Bingo. Bought a random LLL.com mid 2006 for 2,800

Now, in theory - its worth roughly 8.5k - slowly turning into my safety net or "rainy day" domain.

That's what I love most about LLL.coms -- even more than their increasing value is their "rainy day" ability.

As much as I love LLLL.coms, I'll be the first to admit that trying to offload $10k worth of LLLL.coms of any kind in a hurry is a very bad idea, as is offloading pretty much any kind of domain other than LLL.coms.

LLL.coms really are the only type of domain I've seen where you can get offers of 95%+ full market value inside of a couple days on any of them and make for an excellent rainy day fund.

In the case of my friend, he's going into the final year of engineering at college, so he's not going to have much time to monitor prices -- he needs something which can make money literally, out of nothing. He doesn't have time to buy/sell/trade, nor does he have time to monitor prices 24/7.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=429599

In such a case, I really don't think there's a better investment than an LLL.com. Even for newer domainers coming into the game, flush with cash -- what better way to learn about domaining than by purchasing a few LLL.coms until you have the requisite domaining knowledge to invest elsewhere? This way you're making money while you learn and if you decide to invest in handregs, cctlds, LLL.coms, etc afterwards, that's your decision, but at least you'll be in the black starting out which is better than most new domainers can honestly admit to being.

$7355 is actually pretty much absolute rock bottom at the moment on LLL.coms. Easy flip for more than that.

Hello All,

It is true that LLL.com's are about the most stable currency in domaining. They have consistent growth rates (that have regularly been way above market returns), strong end-user appeal (for potential home-run sales), and their demand is growing amid a slowly shrinking available for sale supply.

The year over year returns are right at about 95% appreciation per year in each of the last 8 years. This rate has been quite consistent and continues to remain steady. Imagine how a stock, or other more common investment, would be considered if it maintained a 95% growth rate year over year!

While much of domaining is still in a wild-west atmosphere, where prices can go all over the map, LLL.com's remain steady and strong. If anything, LLL.com's could even be viewed as conservative domain investments, but with rates of return almost that no other non-domaining investment could compare, and all in a relatively liquid marketplace.

The charting, trending and momentum are strongly pointing toward strong continued growth for LLL.com's. I'm really quite surprised LLL.com's haven't drawn more institution-type investor attention, but then again, I think we're seeing more and more new investors embracing LLL.com domains and even business-class investors finding their way into the market recently. These are added great signs for the time to come.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=429599

Reece, I imagine your friend will have a well financed trip ahead to Africa and congrats to those already holding LLL.com's.

zesty

Yes, I`m extremely convinced that with the increase of domainers and new internet users/ new online companies , the LLL.com will keep rising at levels that may compare to little real estate properties.

I would have loved to have bought DSG as well... Fate would have it that the money came through a day too late. Can't recall the last time I've seen such an old, high quality premium LLL.com.

I couldn't believe that when I saw it, I guess there are still uninformed sellers on Sedo.

DSG sold for $18k. Lots of people liked it, but not many people putting cash down on the table. It happens some times.

with a few monster endusers

tbh i have never bought a shit LLL, by that i don't mean there aren't any cos there are
it maybe unpopular to say but this is an area where i will gladly pay 4 times for a great LLL than a crap one

most LLL ultimately have an enduser but i may be on my own thinking the dregs will slightly drop in value in coming years. you gotta be brave or stupid to say it

far better places to put 7/8k imo

geo coms, awesome LLLL, and good 2 word dictionary coms imho, or of course put towards a great LLL.com. just to talk about the comspace
