I really hope we can hold the $3,000 level. A $2,XXX auction sale would be a sad sight for LLL.com lovers. Still, JZA is not an absolutely terrible name, and NJ usually gets premium values. I'd hate to see what QZX.com would sell for now.

As you said -- JZA is higher quality than what we'd expect to see selling at minmum wholesale. While we have yet to see confirmed sales in the $2,XXX range, the minimum is already there -- when some bad LLL.coms aren't getting 3k bids at auction, the minimum is no longer 3k in my opinion (and that's been happening lately).

In case anyone is interested. nol.com is dropping in a few days as a pending delete. This should be fun to watch as a triple premium pronounceable. The funniest thing is it was previously owned by sprint and then nextel with Mark Monitor.

I find it pretty amazing that corporations don't keep on top of this kind of stuff... Even if they no longer need the name -- who couldn't use several thousand for something they no longer need? There's been enough press on the value of domains -- amazing big companies still have no clue and/or don't care.

This happens frequently, more than many people realize. It happens a lot when domains are regged to individuals like Web Hosts/Web Designers.

I don't want to release this name because of confidentiality but I know someone who recently sold a domain back to a corporation for $17K+ after it expired. This was a domain the same company bought the year before for $12,500 then just let expire. It is amazing there is not better accounting on this stuff.

You will also see UDRP's to acquire a domain. Massive legal fees will be spent, then it will expire.

Sometimes corporate incompetence is just mind boggling. Back in 2006 I noticed a company had let a *very* nice 1995 LLL.com expire. I called them and said I wanted to buy it, there were not interested and hung up on me ! A month later it sold for 67K at snapnames... Maybe I should have mailed the Dnjoural sales report to them

Seems GreatDomains/Sedo are getting tired of the constant flow of LLL.coms to their auction.

Just had one rejected for this month's event. Not even the worst of the worst - a double premium! It was rejected for "lack of quality" - not my reserve (which was low).

Are you sure it wasn't due to price? They would be making good money from the ones that sell.

Yes, they wrote the reason was Q - quality. My reserve was $3,999, which I think they would accept for a double premium. But who knows nowadays...

I don't know the name but by the sounds of it it would be unlikely to sell with that reserve,
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=429599

Recent examples from Sedo,

TMQ.COM
$3,900
Sedo

EKZ.COM
$3,333
Sedo

XAH.COM
$3,400
Sedo

I would say a realistic reserve is more like high $2XXX for an average double premium to have a good chance of selling.

Yes, it could be they gave me the wrong reason. Maybe it was the reserve price... Might try submitting it again.
