The world has changed for domainers..its no longer safe to sell domains wif paypal account.. i think the thread started shud post all the names of the scammers on teh first post so ppl can be aware of the scammers names n address n emails..
Here is a PM conversation I had with a member with a good TR over at Namepros.
He might be a victim of the phishing attack, I know the real member is honest.
Red flags:
- he made offer for LLLL's
- he made offer only for domains at Godaddy
- he can pay only by Paypal even if I stated in my thread with bold that I accept MB only.
Sorry in advance if the buyer is legit, but I need to warn everybody. Staff already alerted.
And is getting even worse, someone changed my Godaddy password, so you better check your accounts and make sure you still can log in. My paypal debit card doesn't work anymore and I just withdraw money few days ago. For now I froze any transaction and just watch out, you guys make sure you have everything in place.
I thought of something else today regarding the PayPal chargeback. How does PayPal know, that the person whose account was hacked isnt commiting fraud? I mean anyone can say they didnt authorize the transaction especially for the delivery of an INTANGIBLE item such as a domain name. If the seller isnt covered for Intangible items then why should the buyer be covered for Intangibles, hacked account or not? Why is PayPal so refund happy when it comes to the buyer, they are losing money in the end.
I dont know if im making sense or not, ive been up all night!
I too thought about this....Seems like the guy is pretty quick to say his Paypal account has been used fraudulently! It is so easy to open an account at godaddy and use another email address that is completly different than your Paypal. Get domains transferred to your account and then contact paypal and say it wasn't you that made the transaction! You can then wait till the heat is off and transfer the domains at a later date to your "Real" godaddy account. Whoever is doing this is being aided and abetted by Godaddy IMO as they won't help you whatsoever. It's a total joke that they think the "Thief" is a third party that you can negotiate with!!!
How about we exchange SMS when dealing with a new member or in case doubts, to verify the location of buyer? it just came to my mind as an option to feel a bit secure???
That was fast. I know the staff works to find out who felt a victim to the phishing attack, but we need to give them time.
Everybody is in danger if doing deals by PP, even if the member has good TR now.
Let's just help as much as we can, and report everything suspicious, and do not make deals with these liquid domains (IMO, not just LLLL's). Not using Paypal anyway.
He is an active seller with good feedback. He also sold LLLL.com domain to ebatcave on 10 Feb 2008
Again I'm not sure if he is a real scammer or someone hacked his NP account today.

There are programs and web sites you can send and receive sms, scammers can buy telephone numbers and fax numbers with stolen credit cards via internet instantly
Now the only option left is to move your domains from godaddy to some other registrars like moniker or dynadot because paypal isnt going to listen to you at all
Since DP announced that "Money Exchanges, User Accounts and VCC Sales are Not Allowed!" Scammers found that Paypal + Domains = just a better fraud field!
