Oucchhhhh . Misposted. I am still in bed with my coffee, and I wanted to put this question in the LLLL thread. Sorry.

Ok, I just blogged about this inviting people to use MB and quit PP plus some advices on how not to get scammed.

If anyone has more advices , just PM me them and I`ll add them to the list, let`s fight back the scammers.

Thanks

I will quote ItalianDragon from one of his earlier blog posts about payment methods that can be found here: http://www.italiandragon.com/?p=23

Quote:

If the seller make up stories and force you to pay by PayPal or even worse eGold or MoneyBookers…..then you have a chance that the person you are dealing with is not that genuine. Well known domainers pay eachother by using PayPal up to $500 or even $1,000 but everytime they do it, they know they are running a risk and I won`t personally advice any newbies to take those risks
Now you are saying that MB is good (I agree with you), but the problem is not this, but right after your article I made a very long blog post, explaining why Moneybookers is safer. You ignored it, and did not even changed that line in your article.

And now that you use their refferal code on your blog, Moneybookers is ok, though there was not even 1 month between your two articles. Has this payment method changed that much in less than one month? No.

MB is far better than PP, but in order to build credibility, one must be consequent in his views.

Just created a moneybookers account!

ALEX, thanks for pointing me this.

I wrote the 1th article without knowing much Moneybookers and by listenings someone else. In the mean time , I had time to check it myself ( I opened my account in January and tried it myself before to write a good review).

I won`t advice something to someone without knowing that works, so for example even PayPal has a referral code, even eBay but certainly I don`t invite people to use them.

I`ll edit the old post now.

Thanks

I am thinking about opening up a moneybookers account, but do they transfer money (withdraw) to Canada? I don't see Canada listed on their local transfer country list.

How long does it take to get the money from MB?

I will do that coming week. Seems like PP is down the drain, so seriously have to look for an alternative to keep up the domaining business.

I will check out your post and if I am going to open an account, I will use your ref code.

Thank you :) It may help to pay hosting, since almost no ones click the adsense.

Not Sure If I'm Being Scammed, But ...

I received an askingp-price offer for several of my .infos posted here for sale. That offer came via PM here at Namepros, from username "image". Here it is:

"Hi

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Quote:

atp.info $500, Godaddy, expires 9/12/2008
cpk.info $250, Godaddy, expires 9/19/2008
dwp.info $300, Godaddy, expires 9/15/2008
kfh.info $300, Godaddy, expires 12/21/2008
uag.info $300, Godaddy, expires 1/1/2009
I will take these 5 for $1550. Send me your paypal details."

I replied that I prefer to use escrow.com, and "image" replied,
"Don't know how to use it, will not buy."

"image" appears to be a newbie, and he/she may or may not be a scammer, but I thought it seemed fishy.

Well done Marco, thanks for using my referral too :)

Moneybookers is the opposite of PayPal-- total protection for the seller, none for the buyer. As a seller, I love it. As a buyer, not as much. Ideally you would have a trustworthy escrowlike service that holds the domain until seller confirms reciept of mb payment.

You are right RJ. Maybe in a few months we will hear I paid for the domain but it was not transferred to me and I cannot make a chargeback.

They have an escrow service though, which is not perfect, but gives some protection to the buyer too.

p_campos 02-16-2008 09:28 AM

I think we will start to view more domains being sold throw moneybookers!

I have been thinking of opening a account with moneybookers just to have considering of what I have been hearing, so you think its just good to accept money? How fast is there withdrawal? 3-5 days like paypal?

thanks,

What's the payment solution if you're both a seller and a buyer? :td:
I'd just rather use Paypal IMO
