Operating Systems Which operating systems do you guys prefer to use in a desktop/notebook environment? |
Windows XP, but I prefer my dedicated servers to run FreeBSD w/Plesk control panel. |
On a desktop environment.. XP. Although I have openSuSe on my notebook. [*UNIX only for servers, IMO.] |
My vote goes for XP as well |

I'm a member of MSDN, so bleeding edge alpha/beta releases from Microsoft.....on a machine I don't put anything of value on. Home Server: Windows Home Server Desktop: Vista Desktop #2: XP Laptop #1: XP Laptop #2: Vista Test Machine: Vista with some alpha crap that doesn't like anyone or anything and if you move the mouse, you die. Server: Unix is the flavor of the day. |
Xp |
Mac man....using Tiger and Leopard across several rigs... |
Xp |
On the home pc's I have Xp on 1 and the latest Fedora on the other. |
Only Laptop(s) here: XP Pro + Office 2007 Tried Vista - killed Vista. ;) M. |
XP on the computer I work on. Vista on the laptop (unfortunately) |
Im using XP Pro on my laptop. When I get a new laptop it will probably be loaded with Vista.. haven't used it yet but from all accounts I'll probably wipe it pretty quickly! It does look nice though. |
XP + Ubuntu for me |
Win 2003 Server :) |
Desktop : XP ( need to do coding ) Laptop : Vista ( just browse and do some presentation only ) |
