Operating Systems

Which operating systems do you guys prefer to use in a desktop/notebook environment?

SSandecki 01-29-2008 12:06 AM

Windows XP, but I prefer my dedicated servers to run FreeBSD w/Plesk control panel.

On a desktop environment.. XP.
Although I have openSuSe on my notebook.

[*UNIX only for servers, IMO.]

I'm a member of MSDN, so bleeding edge alpha/beta releases from Microsoft.....on a machine I don't put anything of value on.

Home Server: Windows Home Server
Desktop: Vista
Desktop #2: XP
Laptop #1: XP
Laptop #2: Vista
Test Machine: Vista with some alpha crap that doesn't like anyone or anything and if you move the mouse, you die.
Server: Unix is the flavor of the day.

XP on the computer I work on. Vista on the laptop (unfortunately)

longroad 01-30-2008 02:58 AM

Im using XP Pro on my laptop.
When I get a new laptop it will probably be loaded with Vista.. haven't used it yet but from all accounts I'll probably wipe it pretty quickly!
It does look nice though.
