Anyone here a pilot?

I'd always wanted to learn to fly.. gliders! Thought that would be cool (but too expensive for me as a hobby)

Anyone recall the old ads for the mini-Scorpion helicopters? I can recall when everyone thought we'd be using these to commute to work!

I'm aiming to get my certificates within this year. I've been flying before, but never solo. So far, the closest I'm getting is being part of the Experimental Aircraft Association where we build/rebuild aircraft.
Logically, most of us are pilots, others (like me) are drooling over getting into the cockpit and solo some of our planes.
Currently we're working on this: Light Sport Aircraft (Stockphoto)


and our next project is lined up to be this: WWII Warbird (also a photo from someone else's aircraft, ours is just fuselage right now ;) )

I have been flying since I was 16, got my private @ 19 and my commercial @ 20.. now many years later and moving all over Canada to get my hours built up I finally got work in my home province. Right now I am currently flying c180s,185s,c206s and dhc2 all on floats. I consider myself lucky to be working in one of the most beautiful places on earth..

Thanks for the link to the airbus, I have seen pictures but the tour was well done.. not my cup of tea though :tu:

My brother mentioned how he hates movies where a passenger is suddenly expected to sit at the controls of a Jumbo and land the plane all via voice from the Tower. When you see all the controls they have to contend with, it does seem very unlikely.

Cool, thanks for the link! I'm not a pilot or anything but I do have a friend who might find this site useful 'coz he wants to start learning how to fly planes.
